We had Airtel first, then we got Idea and Vodafone now, nothing crosses 10 Mbps.
Gio does upto 30 and averages at 25 in Chennai. I hear its faster in Hyderabad and Bangalore. Consistence in speed is great which the other networks lack. I hope the speed remains the same after the commercial launch and when they have a larger number of users.
The LYF device I bought is a joke for calls though. I get better voice quality on my landline phone. But I am sure the network is great and the speakers on the phone suck. It is an awesome modem, been running it for the last 96 hours non stop downloading in full throttle and the device doesnt get heated up.
You dont have to go through an IVR and wait for several minutes to speak to someone. You call customer care and someone picks up instantly. But this I assume is that they are quite keen on fixing issues right now in their testing phase, not very sure if they would continue doing it without the IVR after the launch. The My Jio app lets you raise support requests via their ticketing system and they got a chat app too which I havent tried. Then again, Ive never had to call them more than once in the past few days I have owned this device and connection. Its all just so great.
Got high hopes and looking forward to the commercial launch when I can start using the sim card on my iPhone.
