My first awful experience on Reliance customer service was when Reliance appropriated a deposit balance of around Rs.8000/- from me in 2003 / 4, when I had to change from Dhirubhai Ambani Scheme to 499 plan, on its inception. However, I continued with Reliance as my number was shared among many and the basic mobile worked fine for me.
Later when Wi-Fi, GPRS and 3G became a necessity and since I have no confidence in Reliance billing on any, so called, value added services like R world etc., I decided to port the number to GSM. Since, Reliance promised me a conversion by 30/12/2012, I submitted my application to their Office in Annanagar, Chennai, along with all documents they needed, on 24/12/2011, without resorting to any other service provider.
On escalation, Reliance gave me an SMS asking for 3 days further to effect the transition. On failure, I contacted their nodal office, one Naresh, who attended the call, assured me conversion before EOD on 06/01/2012 and today ie 09/01/2012, the nodal office told me that there are some technical issues. The officer said that she does not know what the technical issues are and she cannot connect me to any body, who knows the same. The nodal officer designated in charge of the center refused to surface but I was given the name and telephone number of an appellate authority ie 04430353216, which promptly is engaged on 11 calls from 11.44 to 14.31. This is the type of service delivered by the Company and the greatest tragedy is that we cannot come across any body in the Company who is responsible to the customers. One-way communication alone is effective for them that add to their resources and even basic customer requirements are incidental, if it happens.
I hope some body interested in the healthy existence of the Company will come forward to address this disservice of their customer service.
