If some one wants to know what a daylight robbery means, Reliance Infocomm is a good example for it!
They were so good at lobbying that even the 50 odd cellular companies were speechless and the so called regulator TRAI is openly taking their stride by way of Unified licence, now that TDSAT has ruled out only reliance knows what happens with the Unified licence!
Though they were supposed to be limited mobility, they are offering roaming in disguise and the regulator closed his eyes, regulator can go to a primary school and ask a 5th class kid to know what limited mobility means!
As for the quality of the Reliance phone.. people in the whole room can hear to what the caller is saying! it works as a walkie talkie rather! they rolled out sms and VAS which they are not supposed to as per their licence agreement! Why is the governing body mum on all the issues? we cannot blame the legal system for this, It is intentionally being overlooked by the concerned people. why cant the cellular companies lobby with the government too?
their new scheme which offers a phone for Rs 501 charges the highest charges on earth! it charges Rs 2/ min. BSNL on the other hand is offering a phone for Rs 240( for existing subscribers of landline Rs 740 otherwise) and they dont collect abnormal sums of Rs 200 a month what a subscriber can do is pay rs 20 as insurance premium!
We should be concerned with the telecommunications as it is the future of the country, Development on the I.T front comes along with the telecommunications if we experience this monopolic attitude, we would be left with only one provider who will dictate the terms!
