When my father suffered temporary facial paralysis and lack of coordination with his leg movements, my family physican recommended immediate admission to a good hospital. Since we stay in South Mumbai we admitted him to Saifee Hospital because we heard about its infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipments.
We admitted my father on Saturday evening(admission was fast as pointed out by some of the reviews). But after that it’s all a tragic tale.
The neurologist(Arun Shah) and another consulting doctor(Dr. Pardawala), took my father’s case and asked for all the tests. Initially we were not sure of the condition so we had good faith in them. But even after all the tests(2 MRI scans, more than 5 blood tests), the doctors are not sure what is wrong with my father. The MRI scans showed 3 blood clots, but still the doctors seemed baffled at the reports. Even after 4 days in the hospital, my father has not recieved any treatment for his condition. All he has got was bottles of saline and glucose.
To top that, the doctors have an attitude that reaches up to the skies. When my mother asked for reasons to conduct multiple MRI scans when the first clearly showed the clot condition, she was given a reply by these doctors(names mentioned above) that "You should have faith in us. And I do not like to treat patients who do not trust doctors."
I must bring this to Dr. Pardawala’s notice that in the light of wide-spread scams that we hear on news about doctors and medical facilities cheating.the patients and care-seekers should be more alert.
Anyways, I DO NOT recommend Saifee Hospital to anyone for even a minor illness. Their billing and accounting department is a nightmare too.with fake and fraudulent charges(for equipment you have not used, for syringes you have not consumed) and lack of communication between departments.
The hospital has breath-taking sea views and luxurious interiors, but I think while building this hospital someone FORGOT it’s main purpose."TO GIVE THE BEST POSSIBLE MEDICAL CARE TO ITS CUSTOMERS".
