I have been a regular buyer at Indiatimes shopping. Inspite of several negative reviews I decided to try their Diwali offer. First was the Gold Coin which I got @ 10% discount off market price. Next was a laptop(Toshiba, PDC) @ Rs 18+K. Both were great bargains and delivered within promised timeframe. Absolutely no issues.
However there are some issues with this site. A majority of the products listed are shown "out of stock". This is a sheer waste of time and there is no point in listing something that is not available.
They do not offer COD if discount/Gift coupons are availed. This is big drawback.
They should come out with a system by which the buyer pays a small token amount first and the rest by COD. If the buyer refuses to buy then the Token amount shall be forfeited. If they fail to ship the token amount shall be refunded. This way customtakeouter need not block his money and lose sleep over his purchase.
Online purchases do involve a bit of risk. If one is patient enough to handle it, then you get great bargains.
One more important issue with manufacturers warranty. Many products claim all india warranty and give list of service centre details. But a majority of the service centers listed do not provide warranty service citing poor service by the manufacturers. If you plan to purchase a product then try to locate the service center in your area and talk to them first and confirm the service availability.
