Man, i bought it with a throbbing heart....the packing was so cool...my money well spent{>20, 000 bucks....!}, , , , , i thought....when the brand new phone came out, it had smell of fresh plastic..fit and finish ..superb...it had every thing [i mean accessories..}.....i was thrilled...i was searching actually for something like this...all in one mp3 player..its speaker, although unlike w600i, only one....but was so loud that my amma was impressed...............it had some some cool tracks loaded by sony...thanks cool.............now comes the fun..........my first shock was when I tried to load it with music using the disc to phone soft ware provided with phone, , i tried to copy my favorite tracks from audio c.d......i waited...then ’’safely disconnected’’from my p.c(runs on xp)....to my utter disappointment...it had just two.instead of all ten(my hot favorite song was not there !)then I checked net many people out there with broken heart, , , i tried many suggestions...all failed.....then tried to drag and drop instead of using disc to phone...now the problem was that all tracks I copied not present in memory stick...one day suddenly I lost most of the music tracks , , , i tried again , , managed upto 89 tracks...suddenly every thing crashed...memory stick completely blank I lost every thing even my photos...also those default tracks by sony ericsson..!!i tried blue tooth..at first every thing was fine...later on started to hang..i even had to remove battery...!today I tired to connect using usb, p.c is not detecting....one more thing, the memory stick seems to so unstable sometimes photo will vanish spontaneously..i took it the service center, they called main dealer , promised to replace...in few (how many?!!)days!!
i am not optimistic, even though it is feature packed, it may work for those with limited use, not for some one like me..so bfore u go to spare ur hard earned money, just type problems+w800i in google toolbar .......good luck
18/3/06’’’’i think its time I update my review, ....what I wrote earlier was true...but things hav changed....i got my replacement..man do u think that it was a brand new phone...ofcourse yea..but shell was the same old piece..unlike nokia it is only for authorized service persons to do the panel changing even they had a bad time with mine, damn it was full of scratches, phone got replaced in 9 days but panels took one more month.., .now coming to hard core, u wont believe this is an entire different thing..no probes at all, , software working perfect, no probs with blue tooth, u get uninterrupted music without frequent charging..(unlike those nokia phones and other sony phones like k700i)one more thing u should keep in mind is, even though the printed memory over mem stick is 512, actually u will get around ~470....no need to argue with those poor service person(many of them are not well trained and lack knowledge like this)now I am fully satisfied=ed with my phone, i strongly recommend this phone if u r music buzz like me(w810i is out, but beware except for those classy looks and edge+quad band, which many may not find useful...this phone is having a built in memory of only 20mb instead of w800is38mb, its stand by tine and talk time is lesser than that of w800i...so think twice before u act..)with regards mathen.
