Welcome to the future. The world currently, wherein everybody, including a toddler is exposed to the PC revolution. And whats the good word these days? Software and travel abroad Or the green card. It is with this intention, that everybody who is somebody, heads for the nearest institute to become a software professional. Occasionally it is an ambitious parent who wants their ward to do software...But hold on to your horses. How do you go about it? Finding the right thing for yourself? The scores of institutes which have sprung all over the country are only there to make a fast buck. All that the counsellers want u to do are what they have for u, not what u want. Is there any institute that tells u whats good for you?. Hell, they dont even tell you whether computer education is for you. One has to have the aptitude to go ahead, but heck who cares. Parents wanna boast to others that thei kiddo is into software, the moolah is ready to be thrown. Often at the end of the sham, we find people , who are as before, with zero knowledge, except maybe they know how to boot a PC.
What we do require is a proper system, which takes care of the students as well. A proper aptitude test is needed ( like NCST). Else, well have lots of people who end up as data-entry operators ( known however as customer support execs).
One should be made aware as to the current market requirement and be educated on specific modules. Additional knowledge is gained on job anyways.
Here Id like to add that SSI , has a good module on Oracle.
