Director - Roger Donaldson Screenplay - Roger Towne, Kurt Wimmer and Mitch Glazer James Clayton (Colin Farrell) is a computer Whiz by day and a bartender by night. Senior Trainer in the CIA (Central Investigating Agency - US Government) Walter Burke (Al Pacino) makes him an offer he can’t refuse when he asks him to join the CIA with a bunch of other young recruits. After a gruelling and mentally hard training session he is asked to find a spy within the CIA itself. He is sent to investigate female recruit Layla Moore (Bridget Moynahan) who is suspected to be the stoole pigeon and also love interest of James (How ironic!). What follows is a constant cat and mouse chase with high point suspense and lots of twists and turns which doesnt let the viewer off till the very end. Although a genuine movie buff will be able to predict the story before the next scene starts, The recruit still manages to hold the viewers attention throughout with not a single dull moment except for a overboard climax. Al Pacino is good. People have said this is one of his cliched/bad performance but even then he is leagues ahead of any actor we know. Collin Farrell has proved to be one of the finest young actor around. Bridget Moynanhan is at best ok. Worth seeing once for Al pacino fans. Whether you want to watch it a second time or no is entirely up o you.
