Wat a let down !!!

So Steven Spielberg is the director and the film stars Tom Hanks.... So the film has a novel story... So the makers actually put up an entire set of an airport...

Do any of these things spell a great movie??

Well actually if you had seen the promos of the film - they did.

After much hype and much anticipation ... the film was a total let down.

And why? Do you ask... well for lots of reasons.

Tom Hanks comes to America not knowing how to communicate in English. The only lines he knows is that he has to get to the Ramada Inn and where can I buy Nike shoes....

With a turn of terrorist events back home, he is without a country the moment he lands in US of A. As a result of which he is stranded on the airport.

First of all the very fact that a country like US has officials who would just let someone (remember - who still can’t communicate in their language) lose in the terminal lounge.

Being the hero that he is Tom Hanks loses his food coupons but yet manages to survive. Doing odd jobs, making friends with the airport employees and falling in love is all that happens during months where he waits to get out there.

Tom Hanks’s life is like a fairy tale. I guess that is the biggest drawback in the film. You don’t feel sorry for him or the situation he is in.

The film moves at its own pace - which is most definitely slow.

Except for a few interesting twists and turns there is nothing that the film offers. Brilliant performance by the actors - undoubtedly.

All in all the film is definitely a let down....
