An English babu getting convinced about Bhoot-pret

I am big fan of jim corbett and kenneth anderson. While Jim’s books had a glare of serious and upto the mark talk., kenneth used humour and was very lively in describing his surroundings, people and other ’’unnatural things’’ that happened around him or to someone else.

The Chapter called ’’The Queer side of things’’ asserts the indirect belief of Andy(kenneth anderson) in the supernatural occurence in india.Though he acts as if he is non-superstitious, andy does believe in some of the supernatural happenings which he had experienced.

There is story of a captain neide, how picked up a lamp from a deserted temple and then how he faced devine/devilish agony and only when he replaced the lamp in the deserted temple, he found respite.

The book also has chapters on man-eating tigers and bear, which are extremely thrilling to read.

Nice humour is added from the narration of Sherkhan’s wifes’ in the last chapter.

A good to read book. Now a days the original print with illustrations is hard to get.I myself got my hands on this from a scrap book seller. But, all the chapters can be found in Kenneth anderson’s OMNIBUS-VOLUME 2.

Must read if you are a andy or jim fan, also for junglee’s like me.
