The most irritating thing about this site is too many pop-ups (again the culprit is same - Citibank). Click anywhere and you have more pop-ups.
There is, however, no doubt that it has the most comprehensive india specific content on the web (BBC web-site is the best in the world). There are too many things to read on literally any topic that one can think of - politics, entertainment, sports, astrology, love/romance etc. Almost all the content is free (some require free registration), so it suits socialists like me (who hate to see sites asking for paid subscription for any news items).
Once upon a time, Times of India had a separate site of its own. However, the times group decided to bring all the sites under the umbrella of Indiatimes.com (along with all the pop-ups and nasty ads of the indiatimes web-site). News is a serious business and other news media companies keep news separate from all the junk.
Forums on the site are terrible and often throw errors. You write a messege with all sincerity and then it just vanishes (you dont see the messege appearing anywhere). I guess the best forums are on outlookindia.com website.
If you can deal with the pop-ups (using mozilla firefox or pop-up blockers on IE) then this site is definitely worth one-visit-once-a-day. There are occassional technical glitches and you will have to live with it. Dont ever try writing to the people who maintain the site (you will get a question in return and that too weeks after you have complained).
