Vidya Sinha and Amol Palekar in **Choti Si Baat** exchange glances every day at the Bus Stop without saying a single word. Those who travelled to DU in U-specials must know of the hundreds of romances that blossomed on buses and bus stands. Simple days of seventies. Vidya Sinha looking so pretty in a plain saree. And the lyrics so beautiful.
2) *intehaa ho gayee
intezaar ki
ayeenaa kuch khabar
mere yaar ki*
Despite Jayaprada?s garish costume, the song is so haunting and soulful. Amitabh is waiting for his beloved and will not cut the cake without her. Jayaprada has lost the diamond necklace he?d given her n can?t get to face him. Amitabh in **Sharaabi**, hoping that her love is true n she shall come.
3) *ye jeevan hai
is jeevan ka
yahi hai yahi hai yahi hai rang roop
thoda gam hai
thodi khushiyan
yahi hai yahi hai yahi hai chaanv dhoop*
This song is from the movie **Piya Ka Ghar**. For those times when u realize that god has plans different from your own.* Yeh na socho isme apni haar hai ki jeet hai *Just grin and bear it!
4) *O humdum suniyo re
O janiya sham ko khidki se chori chori nange paanv ja aayega*
Bless AR Rehmaan(**Saathiya**). This is the best bike song ever made. When I hear it, I close my eyes, kick Vivek off the bike and drive whistling on a lonely stretch?.
5) *Sapnon mein milti hai
Kudi meri
sapnon mein milti hai*
Reminds me of the college jam sessions n the fun we had! This song is from the film **Satya**.
6) *Yeh tera ghar yeh mera ghar
Kisi ko dekhna hai gar
To pehle aa ke maang le
Teri nazar meri nazar *
Home Sweet Home. The only place where they?ll take u in, no matter what!( **Saath Saath**)
7) *Jhuki jhuki si nazar
Bekraar hai ki nahin
Daba daba sa sahi
Dil mein pyar hai ki nahin*
The lyrics are written so beautifully, but even if they were silent, Shabana Azmi and Raj Kiran speak volumes through their eyes. Another masterpiece from the same movie **Arth** is *Tum itna jo muskura rahe ho*
I think each line is a gemstone.
8) *Choodi nahin ye mera dil hai
Dekho Dekho dekho
Toote na *
Devanand and Zahira when he gifts her colorful bangles(mostly yellow) in **Gambler**. Because it is those simple gifts that matter!
9) *Rimjhim gire saawan
Sulag sulag jaaye man
Bhige aaj is mausam mein
Lagi kaisi yeh agan*
The eternal rain song is from **Manzil**.
10) *Lakdi ki kaathi
Kaathi pe ghoda
Ghode ki dum pe jo mara hathoda
Doda doda doda ghoda dum daba ke doda.*
**Masoom** was a movie that touched all adults and children. I?m not elaborating on the lyrics, I?m sure everyone knows them. I?ve seen grown ups dancing like kids on this song. Another song from the movie *Tujhse naaraz nahin zindagi *is very touching.
11) *Mera kuch saaman
Tumhare paas pada hai
Sawan ke kuch bhige bhige pal rakhe hain.*
We sort of leave a part of ourselves with those we love. This song is from the movie **Ijazat**.

Chup chup ke aahen bharna kya*
This song from **Mugal e Azam** is almost historic for more reasons than one- one of first songs in color, for the veterans who acted in it, the sets, the direction?.it was phenomenal.
13) *Rajnigandha phool tumhare
Mehke mere angan mein
Yun hi mehke prêet piya ki
Mere anuragi man mein*
Lata?a voice in **Rajnigandha**.
14) *Hamne dekhi hai
In aankhon ki mehekti khushboo
Hath se choo ke ise
Rishte ka ilzaam na do*
Lata?s voice in **Khamoshi**. Lyrics are by Gulzaar. Pyar vo najma hai jo nazaron se bayan hota hai!
15) *Aaj kal paanv zameen par nahin padte mere
Bolo dekha hai kabhi tumne mujhe udte hue*
Another one of my very favourite songs. Other songs from **Ghar **aap ki aankhon mein kuch(eye flu!), phir wahi raat hai and tere bina jiya jaaye na were also very good.
16) *Kya ye pyar hai.

This is for the love of the bizarre .Vivek and Antara in a rebel mode in **Road** .

Rekha in **Umrao Jaan** comes back to the house she lived in as a kid where they refuse to accept her because of her profession. She reminisces her childhood spent there.
