“Useful healthy eating habits”- today I have really planned to deal with health issues, and I do hope that all of you would provide your maximum possible support for it. Our forefathers had a perfect balanced nutritional diet and hence lived a very healthy life. Also, it is quite surprising that they didn’t complain of as many illnesses as we these days do. Especially our subsequent generations, while they are too fond of oily & unhealthy fast-food(junk) food items, they hardly give a thought for healthy food.
Now, what are the generally reported problems due to imbalanced diet & junk food habits?
• Problems of Indigestion
• Constipation
• Dioherrea
• High Cholesterol
• High / Low Blood Pressure
• Heart attack
SOME USEFUL TIPS FOR HEALTHY EATING HABITS
Our food is required to contain more of Salads & cereal, Breads and grains, fresh vegetables, fruits, proteins & minerals and a considerably lesser quantity of fatty foods, calcium and sweets. Almost everything we buy contains a greater percentage of sugar, for example, the sodas, health-drinks, juices, sweets etc.
•In our routine food preparation, it is very essential that the salt content is lesser because consuming too much of salt might lead to High Blood Pressure, stomach cancer and tension.
•The habit of consuming 10% of vegetables and 90% of junk food needs to be made the reverse for a healthier life. Our food must contain more of fresh green vegetables, salads, cereals, grains, fruits etc. and less oily items.
•In order to reduce cholesterol and to eliminate constipation, Fiber food is definitely required.
•Oats Meal is certainly a very healthy food. These days we find that many people skip their breakfast due to various reasons which ultimately leads to Ulcer. But those people may consider taking Oats in liquid form in the mornings so that it makes up a complete breakfast, preventing you to put on weight.
•Instead of White Bread, (brown) wheat bread could be consumed to add more nutritional value to your food.
•Eating low fat foods avoids obesity and heart related problems. Instead of thick curd, consume butter milk.
•“An apple a day keeps the doctor away” is a saying known to even a child. Why? It’s because APPLE contains Vitamin A, Potassium and Minerals which helps strengthen the blood. Also it has been proven that eating an apple everyday helps proper digestion and prevents putting on weight.
•Most of all, avoid Junk foods as much as possible.
•It is also equally required to drink as much water as possible.
For the readers who wonder which are the food items containing fiber, calcium, minerals, etc., it is advisable that they do pay a visit to their nearby Dietician so that proper Professional Dietary Guidelines be obtained in the form of an easy Pyramid structure to maintain their diets.
Dieticians are as important as our General Practitioners & it is high-time that we do realise it to lead a healthier problem-free life. So, at this juncture, I suggest that all of us do realize the importance of a Nutritionally Balanced Diet.
