V V S Laxman, without doubt has enumerous talent. He proved that beyond doubt at the Kolkata test.
I think that the prob with this dude is he takes the game too lightly. He throws away opportunities time after time.
Since his talent has been proved, the selectors are persisting with him.
He has been selected for the WestIndies tour. He should be given a through run in this tour. If he fails to perform consistently, he should be kicked out of the team, and made to play domestic cricket.
Only when he realizes that consistent performance can keep him in the Indian team, should he be selected again.
I also believe that he is one player who needs lot of counselling. If well trained, he could be the star of the ’03 World Cup.
We need to back him for some more time.
