I recently purchased a Hutch Prepaid Rs. 249 connection. Hutch in 4th GSM provider in Punjab and is new too! Earlier I had a postpaid connection with Spice which I surrendered due to some conflicts with Spice.
Anyways I went to a shop and asked for the Hutch Prepaid connection. The dealer fully explained me all the prepaid options he had and then I decided to go for Hutch. Though one thing which I don’t like of dealers is they don’t keep themselves updated.
Anyways the dealer told me that Any Mobile to Mobile is: 99 paisa Per Minute. I like this very much as no one else was able to give this. Other companies are providing 99 paisa too but they offer for their own Mobile to Mobile. BSNL to BSNL, Spice to Spice etc. Only Hutch was the one to give Mobile to Any Mobile which starts from 9.
Next thing which I liked about Hutch is selecting my own number :-). Though when I started selecting all the number I wrote were not available..but luckily I got a computer related number i.e: 256-512 ;-). As I am a computer software developer I like this number ;-).
Also the dealer told me that I will get talktime of Rs. 50 only but I got of Rs. 100 <MUHAHAH grin evil>
Well after registering this number on 601...my phone got activated within 5 minutes and was working. Hutch as a new company has no network problem. Only one problem I faced i.e. I tried to contact Hutch Customer Care all night and they just kept on saying that they are upgrading and will get online soon. But oh well I was able to get in touch in the morning.
Anyways I am satisfied with the overall performance. There are little glitches but they will be removed soon. So here are the Pros and Cons:
Pros:
Lowest Call Rates.
Good Dealer Network.
Great Services Available (like GPRS etc. even on Prepaid)
Cons:
Poor Number Availability. (I suggest if you are thinking to buy then do it quickly before combinations run out.)
