These days woodland is advertising a lot about their outdoor shoes. They show in their print ads guys n gals sitting on mountains or moving through jungle wearing their trekking shoes.
I went on trekking in Aug07 and bought Woodland. Although I saw Weinbrenner shoes but I thoguht Woodland will be better.I bought those shoes at Rs 2395 as I didnt have any time to look for any other brand.
To be honest the price seemed inflated but couldnt help. Now coming to the positive part the shoe is sturdy and comfortable. All through the trek I didnt have any blister except one and the grip was ok too.
But the negative part-- The shoe is not at all meant for outdoor activities. It is a fashion product and the co. just tells lies about it being used for adventure sports. First of all it is not at all water proof, when I enquired they say it is water resistant (loads of crap by the dealer)
Second, the color of the leather goes of even if you encounter the shoes with small amount of water.
Third, the customer service is pathetic and totally insensitive. When I went to the dealer in Crown Plaza Faridabad to show that the color was gone, they just started putting the blame on me. Then they kept the shoes with them for 15 days and never cared to respond to me. Its like a bunch of people who dont care about the customers.
The same time I met another customer who had bought leather sandals which broke after wearing for a few hours and Woodland didnt replace them. They repaired them and then again the shoe broke. The frustration on that guys face was reflecting.
I had faced problems with shoes bought abroad and they just replace them the moment you go to them and show them your problem. But our Great country the companys just fleece the customer and dont give a damn if you dont buy the next time.
So in a nutshell if you are a woodland fan then fine but prepare yourself that these guys wont give any service if anything happened to your shoe.
