I used to play many board games before I got addicted to playing games on the computer. This one is one that I still have and was a favorite. It can be nice to play with company or with your children.
In the game you get a shaker, a set of dice and a pad of score cards. I have always played triple Yahtzee as it is a bit more challenging. I would suggest if your going to buy this you buy extra score pads at the same time as they go pretty fast and can be hard to find. They also give you little pencils but I prefer to use my own normal size.
You roll the dice to see what you get and you can keep pairs out and throw the rest back in for another shake of the dice to try and improve your score.
You need to make scores of ones which of course is smallest total and the easiest to make up if you don’t get 3 of them , you can make extra points on your other numbers. Then there are sets of two’s, three’s, fours and fives and the last one on the top of the sheet is sixes.
If you get 3 of each number you get a bonus score. Sometime you may not make one of them and may want to put that score on the bottom half of the sheet and try again.
On the bottom half is 3 of a kind which explains itself. Four of a kind again explains itself. A full house is 2 of one number and 3 of another.
There is a section called chance. If your lucky and made all the rest of your scores you can roll for extra points if not this is a good place to use a bad score from the first section.
Then of course their is a section called Yahtzee where you have to roll all 5 die and come up with 5 of the same number. This happens more than you make think and it is a lot of extra points.
I don’t have a score pad in front of me and I have not looked at one in ages so hopefully I didn’t miss any sections of it.
This is my first game review and it may be my last depending on my rating LOL
It can be a fun game though so give it a try.
