i'm a real sucker for gupta-dutt fliccks. i loved kaante & zinda. i think where shootout went wrong is that for a real life incident its got too much style. plus the casting- dia mirza, neha dhupia, tushar kapoor?? it needed a little more substance. wat say fe??

i have to mention this. the line which irfan khan writes in the book overcoat when he gifts it to his son was one of my favorite moments in the film. 'to the man who gave you his name. from the man who gave you your name' shamik
i had the good fortune of catching namesake twicw in the theaters.& i must say the second time was more enjoyable as there was more than what meets the eye in the movie. a fitting review to an excellent movie. loved them( movie & your review, both, not in the same order though) take care shamik. read more...
