Relievo Antique Art Society is home to traditional Indian metal craft and a cultural Indian artistic tradition, whilst representing a new generation of designers and craftsmen. You will find unique artworks of FINE METAL RELIEFS that are artistically crafted over several months, producing some of the best designs ever created. It is a unique platform to showcase the best of Indian metal arts and crafts.
My art first attracted attention in 1994 when I held my first show at an exhibition organized by the development commissioner of handicraft, government of India. Media coverage about my work in Navbharat in 1994 & Times of India in 2004 helped boost my morale. Ever since my creations have been displayed at several art shows including Kala Ghoda Art Festival, Inside Outside Mega Shows, Society Collection and other live art shows.
Being a self-taught artist I work on 16 to 36 gauge pure copper and .999 Fine Silver plates using personally developed precision tools to create artistic objects, decorative wall hangings, murals, sculptures, pottery, table tops, awards, mementos, certificates and corporate gifts. My creative, artistic workmanship has been applauded by several leading art shops, galleries, corporate houses and institutions.
I am essentially a fingernail artist and have developed a rare style by engraving human portraits and figures on gold and silver anodized foils with my finger nails. It is an inborn talent which has blossomed over two decades. I use my right hand where the thumb is used for pressing the foil and the nail of the middle finger is used for drawing the image. And the end result is an embossed effect. Working on metal foils with my fingernails is my specialty.
Precious copper and silver have captured the hearts and souls of art lovers since time immemorial. Inspired by natural beauty, I create distinctive masterpieces in pure copper and silver based on Twelve Themes: The Human Face, The Human Figure, Couples, Life and Work, Life and Leisure, Narration, Landscapes, Animals, Still Life, Images of Divinity, Allegory, Myth and Fantasy and The Inward Eye.
