Yes, unfortunately Tata has still not been able to improve its service quality...also, small quality issues remain, like door handles coming off or inside bits'n'pieces of trim tend to work loose. Finished around 4000 km and the ride has become smoother / engine still feels as good as new. Getting an average of 14+ km/litre in Andheri traffic with A/C on all the time. Did one trip on the Expressway to Lonavala and back, getting 17 km/litre with A/C on all the time.
Great to know that you are getting a good average with your vehicle. It looks like the car I bought must be a defective piece. You have hit the nail on the head in the last line : waiting period in today's market is a sure recipe for disaster...Nano had a waiting period of one year...today the boot is on the other foot, with car owners cancelling previous bookings. Further to earlier review, have done the first servicing at Concord Motors Worli and now finished about 3000 km. Absolutely agree with the idea of wait-and-watch in the case of new models. Even established manufacturers are rushing out untested models in the hope of getting at least a small piece of the shrinking market. Tata Motors are trying to fix this fuel efficiency problem with some major modifications to the Bosch fuel system of the Nano. I confirmed with Tata (after first servicing) about completion of 'running-in' (at around 1000 km), after which they said that the vehicle can now be run at high speed. They also confirmed that Nano can be taken upto max 105 km / hr, after which the fuel injection is cut-off, so its not possible to read more...
Nano sales have taken a beating : this month, stocks have been piling-up at Dealerships / too many unsold vehicles is bad news. Service experience with Tata is, unfortunately, the largest single problem area. They just don't have the quality / experience / attitude to impress the customer.
