Update: Yesterday my problem got resolved. My TATA Photon Plus is up and running now. Thanks Tata for finally showing some concern for customers :)
Update: TIn response to my review above, Tata Indicom people followed up with mail and then a phone call giving me a new complaint number personally assuring me that all that needs to be done - verification and activation of the number etc. will be done within 3 days.
