A PICTURE NEVER LIES (A POEM)
A picture never lies;
It knows not to flatter.
Time’s passage and ravages,
Beauty’s decadence and decline
Mean nothing to this chronicler
Whose function is only to record
For archival purposes moments
Of importance, historical and personal.
But still a picture is momentous;
Its loveliness increases every moment
From inception to infinity -
Recording for posterity a legacy
Of Truth, fidelity and permanence
To hold before men of generations
How we all live, love and depart
Leaving only pictures behind!
