For the past couple of months, former Union Minster Venod Sharma has been travelling across the state of Haryana and raising the issues of common man. Venod Sharma has opened Lok Seva Panchayat offices in many assembly constituencies of Haryana in the past month or so. Sharma wants to make these offices as a medium of interaction between him & the local population of the region. He wants to interact with people, so that he can understand their issues & work to get them resolved. During these Lok Seva Panchayat office inaugurations, he has been getting very positive response from people at large.
Before Lok Sabha elections, Venod Sharma had predicted that Congress would lose very badly in Haryana state. The same predication came true as Congress was only able to win single LS seat in Haryana. Sharma points that governance has been steadily deteriorating in the last 10 years of rule of state government. Discrimination in government jobs has been going on rampantly. Eligible candidate were being denied jobs, whereas unqualified people having political connections were getting government jobs. This was happening due to the dubious interview system. Venod Sharma has been demanding scrapping of the interview system policy.
Mr. Sharma also pointed that state government was following a selective approach in development work & infrastructure growth. Only a select few districts were getting all the funds from the government, whereas the remaining districts were being ignored.
Mr. Sharma highlighted that Haryana government has lost it’s connect with the common man. The Lok Sabha results have confirmed this notion. He reiterated that he will continue to raise the issues of Haryana & fight for people’s rights.
