Pakhi and Raksha are two independent women living in different parts of India who are total strangers to one another. Pakhi is a highly successful editor of movie trailers in Delhi while Raksha is a society column editor for The Daily Tribune newspaper in Chandigarh.

The story is set in motion when each of them suffers a heartbreak. Pakhi discovers that her boyfriend cheated on her, while the object of Raksha's unrequited love announces his engagement at the office Diwali party. Seeking an escape, Raksha proposes home swapping on the Internet, by posting an advertisement about her quaint cottage in the Chandigarh countryside. Raksha’s offer is eagerly accepted by Pakhi, who lives in a luxurious home in Delhi but is stressed over her break-up. Pakhi is a pure workaholic and hence finds it difficult to give her best to any relationship.

Pakhi and Raksha swap their homes. Pakhi reaches the Chandigarh countryside while Raksha lands up in the fast-moving city of Delhi. Initially they find the swapping uninteresting and of no help for getting rid of their heartbreaks but slowly destiny shows them the purpose of their swapping homes. Life changes for the good of both, Pakhi and Raksha. Pakhi starts enjoying the greenery and peace of the countryside with its traditional food while Raksha who always wanted to live in a metro starts freaking out in Delhi.One day Pakhi meets Raksha’s brother Harshit, who lives in a small flat nearby Raksha’s place with his office colleague. Harshit is initially surprised and feels he has come to someone else’s house, when Pakhi tells him about herself and Raksha’s swapping of homes. In time, both Pakhi and Harshit develop a friendship which soon blossoms into love.

Meanwhile, Raksha befriends a movie composer Vivek and elderly Uncle Sam in Delhi. Uncle Sam has worked as a screenwriter during the Golden Age of Bollywood. Uncle Sam becomes and professional guide and a father figure to Raksha. The friendship between Raksha and Vivek unknowingly turns romantic after his girlfriend leaves for England (for her higher studies) informing him not to wait for her.

Raksha and Pakhi spend the best of the times with their new-found loyal lovers but then they have to return to their own homes. It becomes very difficult for both the girls. Raksha and Pakhi return home and get busy in the daily chores of life. Both the girls start missing Harshit and Vivek respectively.

One day, Harshit comes to meet Pakhi in Delhi and proposes her for marriage. Pakhi’s former love element comes back to her and asks her to forgive him and marry him. Pakhi is in a fix and does not know what to do. Raksha has been quite mature in understanding people. Pakhi asks Raksha what to do. With Raksha’s suggestion Pakhi gives up on her prior love element and accepts Harshit’s proposal.

On the other hand, Vivek also proposes Raksha. Raksha happily accepts Vivek’s proposal.

Hence, the two strangers who met as home swappers become the best of friends and fine their true loves in this proc
