Guys, I had been to this place with family and was FORCED to stay one night there by the manager else we were asked to pay for room rent of one night even without staying there.

Here on what you read is not exaggerated!

I had been to this place in July 2014 and to tell you the truth, this hotel is a glorified toilet. Actually even toilets at malls and railway stations would fare better. the approach road to this hotel is really really narrow and even two cars cannot pass through. as soon as you reach the gates of the hotel, you will be welcomed by the gutter which flows out of the hotel. I hope these guys cover the drains if they know what hygiene is all about.

The so called deluxe and double deluxe rooms are really really unhygienic and the feel of the rooms is pathetic. the carpet has not been cleaned for ages and is dusty like the sahara desert. if that is not it, ALL ROOMS stink of dampness(we booked three rooms here). although the bedsheets are clean, the blankets are really old and wearing out. I rarely used the toilets because they gave me a feeling of toilets at petrol bunks.

Some description of the so called "Facilities"

Family Room -?! their accomodation cannot be called family room. they should rename it to Dirty Pigeon holes.

Room service / Restraurant - Only one or max Two dishes get cooked for every meal and you are at the mercy of the hotel staff and their preference. Only snacks that you can get is some pakoda and bread omelet. I dint dare to have even one meal here.

Garden - hahahahahahahahahahah. sry cant stop laughing. this is a small piece of land that is a backyard with patches of grass. Also has one plastic table with a garden umbrella on it. place again looks dirty.

Steam Room - DOES NOT EXIST. possibly they take you to the kitchen and make you sit on the cooker and call it "the Steam Room"

Guys, Srinagar is a very beautiful place. very very beautiful surrounding. but these small time so called "Hotels" and the taxi drivers run a mafia where by if a taxi driver takes you to a hotel and you dont like the place you cannot leave without paying the days room rent. More so, the taxi driver himself will not agree to show you more hotels. All the dirty game of commission. I searched for hotels that evening by various means of transport other than the taxi that I had booked for the entire day.

My suggestion when travelling to Srinagar, please be doubly sure of the hotel where you are staying. Search and research as much as you can. See as many reviews and pics as you can. Talk to people who have been there and ask them to recommend places to stay.

All in all, the "Sun city" boasts of being a hotel! they charge 1300- 2000 for their rooms. I personally would not stay at this place even if they pay me for staying there.

I checked out the following morning and checked into an awesome hotel. Thanks to the new hotel and a new taxi driver, my entire family really had a memorable holiday which lasted for 1 week.(but the night I spent here haunts me till date)
