It is that time again when the city comes alive and is greeted with the sights and sounds of people bringing home a Ganesh idol, preparing various delicacies and calling people over to be a part of the celebration that goes on for over a period of 11 days and is known as Ganesh Chaturthi. The favorite Lord of the city is ushered in with a lot of pomp and love and is revered to by one and all. It is at this time that the whole city comes alive with different decorations made for the God, with colorful lights and even fairs in many places. People travel to different parts of the city to see idols that are unique and beautiful. They also savor a savory snack called the modak and also present them to the God as they are his favorite.

Soon that time arrives, when one has to bid farewell to Ganpati bappa and they do so with tears of sorrow in their eyes and immerse him into a water body with the chants of Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhcya Varshi Lavkar Ya(Come soon again the next year).
