I remember the first book I ever read. It was Tinkle, the comic book. I remember being hooked on it as a child of 10 and remember shutting the book only after having finished reading up to the very last page. My second biggest or rather longest book was Nancy Drew and Oh! I so loved the adventures that she would unearth and the mysteries she solved. I slowly and steadily began reading books by other writers like Enid Blyton, Sidney Sheldon, Jeffery Archer and the list goes on. To date, I have read some of the major works of English Literature and this is what compelled me to take up English Literature as a subject I would major in at college.
I loved the way we- my professors and classmates would analyse a book and try to decipher the hidden meanings that it would have. Grammar seemed like Math where one had to break down every word and gives its structure and form. Boy, that was so much fun!
Today after doing my MA in English Literature I really feel that I have achieved and accomplished a lot over the years! I would definitely like to teach in the near future and help to show others how beautiful the English language.
