Hello to my dear friends!
I am greatly thrilled by the responses to this series!
Happy reading ahead too!
All kids are coerced by their parents to write with the right hand and also eat with the right hand. Thats quite a strange behaviour I thought.
The 'Why' bug bit me and the curious me began to ponder.
- Ease of use- If you have noticed all the door handles, equipments, commonly used objects and machinery, are all designed for a right hander. Ofcourse things have slightly changed now.
Afterall everything cant be made two-hand friendly right!!
Its just that its much easier that way!
- Scientific reason- The right side of the body is controlled by the left side of the brain and vice-a-versa. So, the left side of the brain is generally more active and so we have more strength on our right side of the body.
The more you practise on one side that side will get better and better.
There is nothing wrong with being left handed, absolutely nothing.
Cleanliness- Left hand is considered to be the dirt removing or cleaning hand so we dont use it for ingestion or for a handshake. [ But hellllooooo...whats Dettol Handwash for, eh?... ;) Just kidding]
Scouts and Guides across the globe, always shake hands with their left hand- left hand is considered to be close to the heart and so good for the relation. This was initiated by Lord Baden Powell [the father of Scouts and Guides]!
Surprisingly when my Dad-in-law went ahead for a left hand shake to one of the scouting head here[in Malaysia] he was refused! They then did a right hand shake...and all for cleanliness reasons!
Each of us always have our stronger side, it is what we nurture that makes it our strongest side! Same case with our brain as well, the more you dig deep into the gray matter, the more you have to dig!!!
I hope I have nurtured the inquisitive u!
If you know more about this, please do write to me!
Thanks a billion for all the encouragment!!
Loadsa love
