we were planning to eat out....

got out of home to go pick up mamma and then eat out.... Ria gets cranky when I load her into her car seat so I give the car keys to Joy (bro in law) and hold her in the lap.... we pick up mamma after about 30 minutes of driving and then I take over and drive all of us to the restuarant.... getting out I look for my wallet but cant find it.... ok I might've left it at home no issues will now turn into mammas treat instead.... get into the hotel and realise the only air conditioned section is infested by 20 somethings smoking away to glory.... so lets go someplace else.... on our way to someplace else I suddenly let out a "oh shucks!".... coming from the guy who's driving that's bound to get everyones ears and eyeballs.... so I narrate how I had the phone and the car keys along with the wallet in one hand.... and Ria in the other hand.... then to put her in the car seat I kept the keys and phone in my pocket since I didnt want them to scratch the cars top inadvertently and had kept the wallet on the top of the car.... then in the crankiness and the handing over keys to Joy uncle I had forgotten to pick up the wallet from the car top and eventually that's how I lost the wallet!!! somewhere between home and mammas airoli office....... am sure it has got to be a very unique way of losing ones wallet..... infact am wondering if there is any recorded case of this happened ever before!

So then starts the franctic calling of card company, blocked 2 credit and 1 debit cards, registered a police FIR for the loss of PAN and drivers license (surprisingly it was not a very difficult process infact the duty officer actually helped by waiving the requirement for the mandatory affidavit from a court stating that I had lost my PAN card.... and the trainee police woman who wrote down the details and prepared the certificate was very polite.... very different from my impression of how the police function)..... FIR in hand I went to the RTO in the morning to get the DL replaced.... as advised by the policeman I went to an agent and explained the problem. He appeared very confident that it was a matter of few minutes but then couldn't find my DL record in the records room.... said it would've helped if I had a copy of the DL..... so I called up a political heavy and asked him if he could help.... he was like "Imtiaz bhai tum ghar jao main shaam ko lekar aata hoon" (you go home I'll bring the license in the evening).... but somehow I wanted to do it myself and anyways I was at the RTO so asked him if he had any agent he would recommend, so he gives me a couple of names.... turns out these guys are employees at the RTO and they take my details and inform me it'll be done by evening..... so I go home now (not used to so much of dust and heat being the ac ki aulaad that I have become of late I was pretty disgusted with the otherwise clean but un-airconditioned RTO.... yeah I know I am a total pansy that way complete loser).... anyways I started looking through old papers and saw everything from my class 10 marksheet to the first jobs appointment letter to the LIC reciepts, the hundreds of payslips, car papers etcetera etc..... but no copy of the license.... so I called up the ford dealers insurance people and asked if they could locate a copy of the DL since I had very recently given it to them when they were repairing the car after an accident and needed it for the insurance claim..... no they gave it to the reliance people.... so mailed reliance for it but no reply..... anyways then I remembered a blog post about how I got the license made in the first place https://tr.im/o8cD ..... took a print of the learners license and took it back to the "agent".... dude asks me for 50 bucks I tell him I don't have any money I lost my wallet first get me the license then ask for money.... we laugh it off and then he promises to have it done by evening.... well promises is a strong word but then I'm kind of cut loose and falling with limbs flailing..... so anything is a promise.....

PAN card is the second thing to be dealt with (I can live a few days without a PAN card and certainly a lot without paying taxes :)).... oh yes why not) but without driving is kind of going to cripple me..... as such I've filled up the online form for the PAN and made the necessary payment now just need to print the receipt, attach the supporting docs and mail it to them then wait 45-60 days.... will do it in the evening I guess.....

Man something is wrong somewhere in my constellation...... got to take a break or something.......
