Thanks for all your comments and support...After my complaint bank officials called me to apologise and agreed to reverse any interest. I hope other people may also get the benefit.

AtlasBugged, I have recieved the same messsage and I have even lodged a complaint in the Consumer Grievance Cell for Defamation where I refused to pay any amount and even asked for compensation. You can also do that on the following link- http://www.core.nic.in
