I think I've heard the entire gamut of critique about this book. I have to check it out! PS: I wonder where these Tolkien wannabes (Paolini, for one) get their characters' bizarre names from!?

I thought Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman lost something in their collaboration. I like each of their individual works more than I liked Good Omens. It was not bad, per se; just that it didn't give the goods I expect from either of the writers.
Though I got it from the Terry Pratchett-Neil Gaiman book called 'Good Omens'. I don't recommend it.
Nice one, arwenevenstar: that makes for an excellent ending! (Hate it when people are aghast at the idea of Harry dying.) runu aimer, i like to think I'm the last surviving champion (though i'm neither last nor champion!) of ye olde style. Short and sweet are for other buggers!

What a completely horrible review! Just because the story is somewhat autobiographical in nature, does not mean it is an out an out autobiography. Your accusations of depicting characters like this or like that and the futility of blaming God and what not is so stunning in its pointlessness! Carr read more...
Okay. The Amazing Race 8 (Or Family Edition as it was called) was much, much worse than I could have imagined: Boring families (of 4) doing exciting tasks such as seeing the world's largest Office Chair (Woo!) and 'loggin on to AOL' (My God!) was a little too much to take. If you read my review, you'd see something to the effect of: 'I like it the way it is [i.e short]';'and not in 2 parts'. The book-sellers, being 'hawkers' were evicted by the BMC in August. No idea whether they've returned or not. It's fine that the pirated book-sellers are gone (it's evil to buy from them!) but the removal of the 2nd hand book dealers is truly tragic. Come back! Sad that the BMC and the government read more...
