New BMW M3 Coupe - Worth A Look...
**Quick Take**
Fuel Economy (Estimated values may differ under various conditions.) - 6/11 kmpl (city/highway)
Available Engines - 4.0L V8, 420 bhp, petrol
Available Transmissions - 6-speed Manual Transmission (MT)
**Overview**
The BMW M (Motorsport) was initially created to facilitate BMW’s racing program in the 1960s and 1970s. For years, the M has seen grand success in racing venues across the world and has bloomed in the growing market for high performance sports cars.
The BMW M3 Coupe is the latest in the M Series cars to arrive in India. The car is based on BMW’s popular 3 Series sedan and comes with a modified engine, suspension, interior trim, aerodynamics and exterior styling. It is designed purely to thrill people who are looking for a high-performance sports car. The coupe comes with a lightweight body and has a very powerful engine. It has been tried and tested on some of the toughest proving grounds in the world.
The BMW M3 Coupe competes with the Audi TT Coupe in India.
**Powertrain & Performance**
The M3 Coupe derives power from a 4.0-litre V8 engine that has a maximum output of 420 bhp@8400 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm@3900 rpm. A 6-speed manual gearbox ensures optimum transmission of engine power resulting in smooth acceleration on demand. It offers super-fast, super-precise gear shifts every time.
The coupe’s lightweight body construction enables it to be very dynamic in movement and the perfect 50/50 weight distribution of the car at the front and rear provides great stability. Its high performance braking system reacts quickly and effectively to the driver. The lightweight braking system is composed of high-performance compound disc brakes that provide excellent braking even under wet weather conditions.
The ’M Dynamic Mode’ feature when engaged, allows the driver to push the car to the limits without having to worry about losing control. In this mode, the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system automatically steps in to bring the car under control if it seems to be slipping.
**Build & Styling**
New BMW M3 Coupe Car - Interior
The BMW M3 Coupe has an incredibly lightweight yet strong carbon roof and an unmatched ’M’ chassis. The car rides on double-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels that provide an extremely sporty look. Even sportier multi-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels are available as an option. High speed tyres deliver amazing performance and stability on the toughest of roads. Body coloured bumpers with large air dams on the front bumper ensure that the powerful engine is cooled fast and efficiently. They also enhance the sporty appeal of the coupe.
The car gets bright xenon headlamps that come with automatic range control, four corona rings and a headlight washing system. The automatic range control system prevents dazzling of oncoming traffic by the headlights. A great feature that makes driving even safer are the Adaptive Headlights which are an optional feature on the coupe. In these headlights, sensors measure the car’s speed and steering movement to automatically shift lighting focus in the direction of the road ahead. This feature is particularly useful around corners and sharp turns in the road.
The interior of the Coupe is highly driver-oriented. The design and layout of the dashboard and controls are suited for driver’s convenience. Available interior trim options are: Titanium Shadow, Brushed Aluminum Shadow, Black Carbon-look leather and high-floss fine-wood Sycamore grain anthracite. The driver and front passenger M sport seats are electrically adjustable and the driver’s seat comes with a memory function to store seat position settings. Standard upholstery is a fine combination of cloth and leather. A fully premium Novillo leather interior upholstery can be added at an extra cost.
The automatic air conditioning system on the M3 Coupe includes fogging and solar sensors that detect cabin conditions and heat or cool the cabin automatically. The M leather steering wheel comes with multifunction buttons for the driver’s convenience. On-board entertainment equipment includes a Hi-Fi LOGIC7 5-channel professional audio system.
The airbags system includes driver and front passenger airbags, head airbags at the front and rear, and side airbags integrated into the seat for driver and the front passenger. The front passenger front airbag comes with a seat occupancy detector. All airbags are controlled by a perfectly calibrated safety electronics system which ensures that each airbag is inflated to the correct degree in case an accident occurs. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system and all wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) provide additional safety. An alarm system with remote control is available for the BMW M3 Coupe.

2007 BMW 328i
I couldn’t find a category for 3 series, so I just went ahead and put it under M3. I just got this car last night and have only taken it for a test drive and then driven it home. It is titanium silver with a black dakota leather interior. It has an automatic transmission and I also got the premuim package which includes leather seating, 8 way power driver and passenger seats with driver memory for the exterior mirrors and the seat positions, 4 way adjustable lumbar support for the front seats and universal 3 button garage door opener as well as BMW assist for roadside assistance. It handles very well esp. at high speed in curves, there is hardly any tilt at all. Space in the back seat is not much at all perhaps enough for a small child or a dog maybe. Front seats have plenty of room esp. the leg room which is amazing. Great car can’t go wrong with it, my neighbor has it and a couple of my friends to. Excellent car for people under 28 or those young at heart.

The best daily-driver sports car ever!
First, let me tell you that I own this car since last May and my review is based entirely on my experience with this car. This is not the kind of car review you will get in a car magazine, rather this is a review from someone who drives the car daily to-and-from work and ocassionally on the race track.I got the car with all available options except the competetion package, so here are the features my car has: sport package, premium package, SMG transmission, 10-speaker Harmon Kardon Sound system, 19-inch wheels, cold weather package, navigation system, basically all the bells and whistles you would expect in a GT car. Now on to the review..............General impression: The M3 first of all is a race car masquerading as a streetcar. You will know this the second you start to drive it. The tight suspension will make you feel every crack and crevice inthe road and the F1 inspired SMG transmission will take quite sometime to get used to. It has huge brakes which do an excellent job of stopping the car but it takes time to get used to their massive/quick stopping power. You are sure to jerk your head many times while getting used to the brakes.Interior:The interior is not very flashy but it is comfortable as it was designed to keep your attention on the road and optimize driving duties. This is a true drivers car and as such the interior controls for everything including the stereo and climate-control systems are well placed and simple to operate. One cool feature is the passenger side-view mirrors that pivot downward when the car is moving in reverse, to help see what’s behind the car. You will never know how useful this feature is until you use it. Both front seats are very comfortable and you sorta "fit" into the seats. My car has the power lumbar adjustment which makes the seats even more comfortable on long drives. The back seat is ok for two adults but only for a short time. It will get uncomfortable for anyone taller than 6 feet. The nappa leather upholstery on the seats gives it that special touch.I opted for the optional Harmon Kardon premium sound system and the sound quality is awesome. There are 10 speakers strategically placed around the car and a subwoofer in the back. This system practically immerses you in rich sound and is a pleasure to listen to. The head unti can play audio CD’s as well as MP3 CD’s. The system also integrates Bluetooth which allows me to pare my phone with the car and use the system as a handsfree system for making and receiving calls. In coming months I am planning on replacing the head unit with a pioneer AVIC N3 with Navigation. One thing I did not like about the interior is the lack of storage spaces and cupholders. There are two cupholders on the center console but only one of them can be used when the handrest is down. This to me is poor design, but something I can live with.Performance:The M3 comes with a 3.2-liter, inline six-cylinder engine that makes 333 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The engine redlines at 8,000 rpm instead of theusual 6,000 or 7,000 rpm. The transmission I got on this car is the F1 Sequential manual Gearbox, which works like a stick-shift, except you don’thave to operate a clutch pedal. It is operated via the shift pedals behind the steering wheel or the short shifter on the floor. This is essentially the same tranny as the manual transmission with the clutch being handled electro-mechanically. It takes some time to get used to this tranny and it can be finicky, especially when driving around town at lower speeds. But once you get used to manipulating the throttle, you can achieve near smooth shifts anytime. One cool feauture on the car is a button on the center console marked "sport." Press this and the settings for the electronically controlled throttle are remapped to be more aggressive and allow for quicker engine response. Driving in the "sport" mode is truly exhilarating. The exhaust sound is also much deeper in sport mode. Conclusion:The M3 really shines in high speeds, but it can be a handful in the city. Its tight suspension that feels great around corners can be tiring on commutes in stop and go traffic. But once you get familiar with the driving techniques required for this car, it becomes second nature and you won’t feel a difference. I drive it every day in rush hour traffic and on the freeway and with each passing day I love driving it even more.

Dream Car
BMW M3 is 2dr six cylinder machine an expensive version of one of the most popular of cars ever made. It has some interesting features for the more experienced driver a 6 speed manual gearbox. A top of the range built in satellite-navigator so you know how to get to where you are going a TV a compact disc changer all as standard as most ’extras’ are included in the price like air conditioning an out side temperature gadget. The seats are red leather racing style. It’s also got a locking fuel tank that holds 20 gallons, 19" alloy wheels which cost £120 each to clean, radar locks, an alarm. As for the performance it is electric a 155 mph top speed is limited. 0-60 in 5 seconds and 0-100 in 11 seconds means it can really move fast. It is motorbike quick. With a hard sports car ride this will not suit everbody. At £44000 it is rather expensive and BMW show rooms are used to gross over charging of their customers it is then highly expensive to buy but this is not a problem as a company car all expense is covered and none is spared. The cost is £1 per mile to run for an average drive my brother has now covered 50,000 miles that is equal to £50,000 in running costs. Stage 2 service has just been done for £960 plus a few extras it was £1200 it total It is then a quality product offering excellent performance and handling. Speeding can be a problem however as speed cameras have flashed 15 times on last count but not one had film in it. It will however cost a small fortune if it is run privately. Recommend to all those in the money.
