Bad Food
To much masala in biryani can destroy it. The film’s story is set in Hyderabad so everyone should speak hyderbadi but it was to heavy dose of hyderabadi accent.
A middle class girl is frustrated because every new marriage proposal for comes with a heavy dowry so she finally decides to con some rich guy over dowry and her father is her accomplish in this task.
Anupam Kher was good, Parinneti and Aditya tried hard to fit into their characters but failed. Music is average, story and screenplay both losses the thought with which they started in beginning. There is message in the film against dowry which was completely lost till the end.
Overall an average film and no harm if you missed it.

Daawat-e-review
Daawat-E-ishq is a one time watch just because of it’s cast performance and you can say that the cast acted well to an extent.
I’m a big of Parineeti Chopra and he has acted quite well in this movie. Even Aditya Roy kapoor has acted quite well.
They both complemented each other quite well on screen. Infact Parineeti goes well with any other actor.
Her bubbly looks and her acting can impress anyone. She has that positivity which can make anyone go crazy.
The plot is descent and surely deserves a watch. Parineeti and Anupam kher tries to trap people who ask for dowry and in turns expect out of court settlement and in turn demand for huge amount.
The cast performance is good and it had to be good considering that it comprised of Aditya Roy kapoor, Parineeti chopra and Anupam kher.
The counts tracks were average. Nothing great here!
I would say that the movie was a one time watch! Daawat e ishq deserves a watch for it’s hyderabadi and lucknowi combination. My native is Hyderabad and I can relate stuffs so I really enjoyed the movie. For someone else this wouldn’t be as interesting as it was for me but it surely is a one one watch.

Surely taste this dish..
Gulrez (Pariniti) is the only child of her Abbu (Anupam Kher).she is a topper, smart, well educated and independent working girl.
She is facing difficulty is get married as all the guys and their families shamelessly demand for dowry in lakhs of INR.
Abbu can afford some dowry but unable to meet the guys demands after lot of pain of rejections Gullu loses her cool and decides not to marry.
Then she comes up with idea that she and her father’trap’ some guy through matrimony and con them and use the money for her fashion designing course in USA.
Abbu denies but later on gives in.so both land in Lucknow to’trap’ some guy. What follows is decent comedy.
she meets TARIQ (TARU/Aditya) and falls in love for his honesty, simplicity.
He is a gem of person and is against dowry. Well.ahead you need to catch the movie.
performances are very good . Gullu is perfect in her Hydrabadi accent.Taru is perfect as a Lucknowi chef. Anupam Kher is great playing the dear dad.
Overall very good movie. No nonsense. Good social message with comic moments.
Getting to ’visit’ 2 cities Hyderabad and Lucknow is a bonus. :) We need more such movies to come.

Golden opportunity gone wasted
Dawaat-E-Ishq was a nice attempt in sending out a clear message of dowry system which is very much existing in India. It was an opportunity gone miss because of the weak direction and poor script. The only silver lining was stupendous performance by Aditya Roy Kapoor and Parineeta Chopra.
After rejecting multiple wedding proposals, Gullu(played by Parineeti Chopra) and her father( played by Anupam Kher) hatches a plan to con a dowry-seeking family.
Habib Faisal( Do Dooni Chaar, Ishaqzaade) does well mixing the spices of Hyderabad and Lucknow with genuine message of dowry at the background but drama fizzles out in the second half and doesn’t give you a satisfaction and you walk out of the theater with mixed feelings. It is the script which could have salvaged the film from falling into pit. Sajid Wajid’s music score was superb music . Cinematography is just about OK capturing the back drop of Hyderabad and Lucknow city. Art direction was poor. Dialogues are fine. Aditya Roy Kapur gives a commendable performance. He is sure to get things going. Parineeta Chopra gives a fabulous performance towards the end. Anupam Kher is dependable.
So, overall, a decent flick which could have been made better but looses the steam afterwards! Decent 2.5/5

Daawat-E-Ishq-Haii!
Movie: Daawat-E-Ishq
Released Date: 19th September 2014-10-10
Director: Habib Faisal.
Genre: Comedy Drama.
Writter: Habib Faisal.
Cast: Parineeti Chopra, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Anupam Kher.
Lovely entertainment, that encounters lot of enjoyments, energetic moments, charmful situation with a drama like Kabab me Haddi. The pure comedy drama, gives you hundred percent new flavour, obbhiously by maintaining lot of peculiarities. I know people should doubt about whenever it made some controvercies, still many youngers feel it deeply, infact new couples think it seriously, undoubtably long term liking-disliking marital process. What says our grand boss Anupam Kher, yes he was a perfect father, who could understand his lovely daughter’s feeling. Every moments there were deep understanding mutual requesting, played both of them, without getting any kind of nervousness, inspite of being lost their essential partner.
The movie releasing date was 18th November 2014, and I have seen it earlier. Because I thought the movie is absolutely perfect for the new generation. I like to give many thanks to Mr. Sajid-Wajid-the music composer, and Habib Faisal-the movie-director, who depicted the whole gener as a pure comedian style. Obbhiously people should view the movie, why I am telling the movie is like perfect comedy.
The relationships, textures, switch over the movie as a big challenge. The family drama narrates the all over middleclass society. But one father can’t suppress his lovely daughter’s feelings, anyway.
Gulu her name, who tried to love some-one, but she failed again and again. Once the beautiful Gulu met Tariq Haider, was a perfect Lucknow, person, who had a own shop, and business.
Tariq considered infront of Gulu, that he had limited knowledge, but he could spare more time with her. He said repeatedly to not to break up their inter-personal relationship, even he proposed Gulu to marry him anyway by realising her chilidish whim.
Adding so many supports, I like to specially encourage to the film director, as his greatness, comprises more tenacity, to never pause the holistic drama like pure Hyderabadi biriyani. There was an understanding, there was a real film scenery. Yes A treat for all the sense. Though sometimes it lost it’s realistic, still it made some hierarchy. Thank God! We never get rid-off this experimental views, for gathering more experience in our future!

One time watch !!!
The intention of director Habib Faisal is noble, but the route he has taken is long and boring. What Faisal wants to depict is how a woman makes the best from Section 498A of the Anti-Dowry Act. What I gather he was trying to portray, according to what he has been saying in interviews, is that it is ok if a man dupes woman demanding dowry, but when a woman turns the tables, she becomes a criminal!
Gulrez Qadir(Parineeti Chopra), an educated girl is fed up of the dowry demands being made by prospective grooms. She is this upright, hard-working and no-nonsense girl. She works as a salesgirl in a shoe shop and has dreams of studying in the Big Apple and perhaps, one day, have a shoe brand of her own. Her father, who knows the law, is a clerk in the High Court in Hyderabad. He is a sincere and honest man. But it does not take much to lure him to do wrong.
Father and daughter decide to move to Lucknow on fake names with fake documents to interview’would-be-grooms’. In the hotel suite where they stay, they have placed a handycam where the dowry demands are being filmed. Whoever asks for the biggest sum, will be their target.
They will marry in a simple ceremony and the next day will’loot’ them for Rs 80 lakhs and vanish to America. All this seems fine, until an uneducated hotelier Tariq Haider(Aditya Roy Kapur) comes onto the scene. He charms them with his genuine love and after his parents have settled for Rs 40 lakh as dowry, he demands he spend three days with Sania Habibulla(Gulrez’s fake identity). In three days, Sania realizes that Tariq is a good human being and she does love him. He too loves her.
Father gets cold feet before the marriage and Sania wants to go ahead as planned, even after Tariq has given enough evidence of what a gem of a man he is. For me, the film should have taken a sensitive turn here instead of allowing Sania to go ahead with her plan. Why can’t a girl looking for genuine love, when she finds it, not be the same upright girl?
Parineeti shines in the first half hour, but after the plot loses its sting, she fumbles to stay afloat. Aditya as the rugged, uneducated lad from Lucknow too fits the bill. He tries his hardest best but again the script lets him down.
If only Faisal had not been over-excited about Section 498A, I believe we would have had a better feast!

Simple lovely story
I liked this movie very much. Its a simple, entertaining and can be enjoyed with family.
Movie makers have put a social message of dowry in such a comic and entertaining way that it will not bore like other social messages and will leave an real impact on todays youth and their families.
Songs, direction, cinematography, plot, acting are good. Its full entertaining. without thinking u can go with ur family and have a nice time. Must watch for everyone.:)

This Daawat was a little bland.
Ever been for a meal to a place known for its quality fare and come away disappointed? We all have occasionally. Daawat-e-Ishq is one example of just such an outing.(YRF.some consistency will do wonders).
The story-is of young Hyderabadi Gulrez(Parineeti Chopra in a too pink lipstick) whose prospects for “jahez” are limited and thus she gets no suitable boys-even when they seek her out and fall ostensibly in love with her. An indignant Gullu then hatches a plot which involves snaring a prize catch with promises of much dowry, conducting a false wedding ceremony and then slapping the anti-dowry Article 498 A on them to get them to cough up huge sums as damages-in or out of court. This with the help of her doting but dithery dad(Anupam Kher).
Guls however reckons without the rustic but honest charm of Tariq Haider “Taru”(Adiya Roy Kapoor in shirts which would put Govinda to shame) from Lucknow. He is loud, brash and not much to look at but has great insight and also actually wants to marry for love and not money alone. He is also the scion of a family which owns a highly popular restaurant and thus the way to this woman’s heart is definitely through her stomach. Between kababs, biryani, shahi tukda and phirni, their jalebi of a love story ferments and soaks up in the “chashni” of friendship and mutual liking. And throws her off her balance.
The acting was mediocre across the board. Parineeti was bland and mechanical and did no justice to the chatpata role she had. The only surprise was Aditya Roy Kapoor who thankfully for once was NOT a washed up drunk and even conveyed a fair amount of emotion through surprisingly warm dark melted chocolate(though kohl rimmed) brown eyes.
The Hyderabadi accents were ok but the Lucknow portrayals were not. Also, for some reason there was a surfeit of pink in the film-from lipstick to an all pink holi.
Two of the songs are lovely-the title track and the Sonu Nigam number-Mannat. Kausar Munir’s lyrics impress yet again. Lovely words to be wooed with.
The story or rather its enactment lacked depth and was oversimplified.(Excuse me a bit while I go plan my own heist-anyone know where I can get a fake passport made?). There are a few sizzling moments between the lead pair but not enough to make us go “yum”.
What are missing are the accurate characterisations of people and places as in “Ishaqzaade” or the unaffected spontaneity of “Do Dooni Chaar”. These comparisons, though irksome, will be made as the quality of these films is unquestionable.
With all the ingredients of a delicious meal(actors, director, producer, music) kahaani mein namak daalna reh gaya.

A Delightful Invite for treat that's cooked Badly
The invites for this delightful treat were promoted heavily and everyone expected to get a great treat from writer-director Habib Faisal who has given us movies like Do Dooni Chaar & Band Baaja Baaraat.
But unfortunately Daawat-e-Ishq lacks the right ingredients & flavours required for a Spicy Treat. Fed-up of encountering dowry seeking families and Useless prospective grooms, a working class Hyderabadi Girl Played by Parineeti Chopra and her father played by Anupam Kher) hatch an out of the box plan to get something going for them.
That brings them to Lucknow, where this young kabab-shop owner Tariq Played by Aditya Roy Kapur falls into their trap.Love Plays the Inevitable part and love for food also brings them so close with Dahi Kababs, Biryanis, Phirnis and Jalebis. The songs are nice but at not the right timing in the movie. The climax that Unevils at railway platform is not nicely done as you can’t believe what is shown and is not convincing enough. Daawat-e-Ishq is a good watch until intermission but then the ride goes Haywire leaving audience leave that bad taste in the mouth!

A tasty main course with a not so tasty desert
Well, it’s my fast and I went for a movie that’s build upon a full fledged four course meal. Now you have to give me a gateway of being a little lenient towards the movie but non the less I would surely recommend it because it’s base is not just food. Metaphorically this movie touched all parts of a delicious meal where there are sweet comic punches with love ka tadka but not so great climax as a desert.
The movie is vibrant, edgy and crisp with a little flaw which could be let off. Music is not bad at all and does pushes the story ahead. Parineeti looks great and Aditya is someone to fall for in the movie.
Overall, Daawat-e-Ishq is not an undesirable film. Its sweet & simple. You can surely go and watch it without any hesitance.

Kasai Ko Bakre Se Pyaar Ho Gaya!
Habib Faisal is considered one of the most accomplished directors after his first two ventures - Do Dooni Chaar and Ishaqzaade - turned out to be excellent and memorable entertainers. Hence, expectations are high with Daawat-e-Ishq despite the film not creating much of a buzz. Thankfully, Daawat-e-Ishq turns out to be a watchable entertainer. But what could have been a fun con caper goes downhill because of a shaky second half. At best, it’s a one-time watch!
The story of the movie: Gulrez Qadir(Parineeti Chopra) is an educated smart girl who works in a shoe shop in a mall in Hyderabad. Her father Abdul Qadir(Anupam Kher) is trying her best to get her married but that doesn’t happen as the families of all the potential grooms ask for a huge amount for dowry, which the Qadir’s are not able to afford. Circumstances take them to Lucknow where they meet the happy-go-lucky and a brilliant cook Tariq Haider(Aditya Roy Kapur). He gets smitten by Gulrez and their marriage is fixed. However, things are not as easy and simple as they seem to be.
The opening credits(featuring a menu where the cast and crew are also mentioned along with delicacies) are the best in recent times and instantly set the mood. Gulrez’ entry scene and the problems faced by her and Abdul Qadir is neatly depicted. Karan Wahi’s track comes up quite unexpectedly. But then, that’s a Yash Raj Films tradition. They never reveal all their cards and there’ll be some surprise in each of their films. Daawat-e-Ishq is no exception! Things get better as the drama shifts to Lucknow. Aditya Roy Kapur surprisingly has a late entry but he takes the film many notches higher. Sadly, the film falls a bit in the second half. Things begin to look unconvincing and even foolish. This is especially in the finale. In fact, the climax reminds one of the maddening endings of Priyadarshan where everyone is running and fooling around with one another! Nothing’s wrong in adding humour but it has to be done neatly. Note that even Habib Faisal’s Do Dooni Chaar had some crazy moments in the second hour but it looked good and didn’t seem out of place. That doesn’t quite happen with Daawat-e-Ishq, sadly.
However, the performances save the show to a great extent. Parineeti Chopra as always is in top form. Best part about her is that she doesn’t get repetitive and never reminds viewers that she has done characters in similar league in Ishaqzaade, Ladies VS Ricky Bahl and also Shuddh Desi Romance. Also, her Hyderabadi accent sounds very cute! She doesn’t expose at all and yet sizzles and that’s really a feat! Hats off to this powerhouse of talent and may she keep entertaining us with such performances!
Aditya Roy Kapur is very adorable and immerses himself totally in his character. It would not have been easy for him to play a character which is contrary to his real life persona. But he effortlessly slips into his role and comes out with flying colours. If he keeps doing interesting stuff like these, he can easily turn out to be one of the biggest stars in the years to come! Anupam Kher is the third important lead in the film and is first-rate. Her sequences with Parineeti are very sweet and would surely be loved. Karan Wahi(Amjad) has a great screen presence and impresses in his debut role. The actors playing Aditya Roy Kapur’s parents, the goon in the climax and the guy who loves ‘Bilu flim’ do a fine job as well.
Sajid-Wajid’s music isn’t highly memorable but works well in the film. The title song is the best followed by Mannat, Shayarana(both beautifully shot and incorporated) and Jaadu Tone Waaliyan. Rangreli appears in the end credits and is forgettable. Hitesh Modak’s background score is very effective. Himman Dhamija’s cinematography is fair. The locales of Hyderabad and Lucknow both are very well captured. Sets are real. Habib Faisal’s story is nice and makes an interesting comment on the dowry system prevalent in the country, despite being illegal since 1961. However, it doesn’t quite come out well in the script. Habib Faisal created a nice balance of realism along with quirky masala humour in Do Dooni Chaar. He could have done a similar good job in Daawat-e-Ishq as well but that doesn’t quite happen. The five-star hotel scenes instantly remind one of Khosla Ka Ghosla and Ladies VS Ricky Bahl(that also dealt with conning). And the entire sequence in the second half where Parineeti repeats ‘Ab Tariq itna insist kar hi rahe hai…’ falls flat. And climax as said before is childish. On the plus side, the film has no dull moments. The spirit of Hyderabad and Lucknow are nicely captured. Some of the romantic and funny scenes are damn good. And the review would be incomplete without talking about the food element. The various delicacies shown throughout the film will surely water one’s mouth!
Some of the best scenes:
1. Gulrez rejects the ‘Bilu flim’ guy
2. Gulrez with Amjad
3. Gulrez and Abdul call aspiring candidates
4. Gulrez-Abdul at Tariq’s restaurant
5. Gulrez-Abdul meet Tariq and her parents
6. The songs Mannat, title song and Shayarana
7. The chase sequence
On the whole, Daawat-e-Ishq has an interesting story and a nice message to convey. Performances are extraordinary, especially Aditya and Parineeti. The various delicacies shown in the film are very tempting and hence don’t go for this film on an empty stomach! Sadly, the second half isn’t upto the mark and the Priyadarshan-style climax don’t quite work. It could have been as brilliant as Habib Faisal’s Do Dooni Chaar and Ishaqzaade. But because of the glitches, Daawat-e-Ishq is at best just a one-time watch!
