Jab tak hai jaan is not a regular romantic film. In this film love is touched to its depth. It keeps people to stick to their seats in the whole film. For first 90 mins the character named akira reads the diary of an indian army bomb squad member and his past were recalled. Cinematography was amazing. Every song of this film is beautifully directed. There are some seens in the film where it seems like they are over reacting, but the overall film is something we should see before we die.

I have watched this movie almost 8 times. I really just love it. Reason being the story, the cast, the locations, the theme, and also the best director of romance, this was his last film as a director and so well the title said, he did his best Jab tak hai jaan.

Such a truthfull title. Hats off to the complete concept and a whole package of the love and romance. I would recommend this to everyone, atleast you should see it once. Love it.

Given the horror genre’s long history of and deep affinity for paranormal hauntings, “true” stories, and projects with lots of sequel potential, it’s pretty amazing that Hollywood didn’t consider a series centered around Ed and Lorraine Warren years ago. Sure, some of their most famous cases have been brought to the big screen in the past, but the idea of following the husband and wife, played by the same actors, from investigation to investigation writes itself. Of course, that’s now the basis for The Conjuring movies, and the great news is that the franchise is off to a great start, with director James Wan succeeding his 2013 hit with The Conjuring 2, a flawed but equally terrifying follow-up.

Picking up the story of Ed and Lorraine Warren(Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga) about six years after the events of the first movie, The Conjuring 2 begins with the paranormal investigators earning worldwide notability for their work on the Amityville case – but Lorraine in a state of exhaustion. Personal and horrific visions involving a demon dressed as a nun have begun to haunt her, and with critics and skeptics working to try and disprove their work, Lorraine isn’t sure if she can continue consulting work. Unfortunately, this is at the same time as what would become one of the Warren’s biggest cases begins to unfold in the London Borough of Enfield in England.

In the small British town, Peggy Hodgson(Frances O’Connor) struggles to maintain a home as a single mother of four children, but finds things get exponentially harder when a demonic presence begins to terrorize the residence. The paranormal presence specifically targets Janet Hodgson(Madison Wolfe), the youngest daughter, and at night she is subject to a wide variety of terrors – ranging from waking up in the living room instead of her bed, to being physically attacked and bitten. As the case begins to attract attention in the country, the Catholic Church calls on Ed and Lorraine to investigate the happenings – hoping that they can either determine that it’s all a hoax, or possibly rid the house of the evil that persists there.

The worst thing a sequel can do is just be a carbon copy of the original, and had The Conjuring 2 fallen deep into that trap it would have been particularly brutal, given the number of paranormal haunting movies we see every year. And while the movie does feature many of the staples of the subgenre – a hand partially forced by basic adherence to a “true” story – it succeeds by revealing some new and different tricks up its sleeve narratively that manage to both scare and surprise. The movie also changes things up from the first simply by giving voice to the many skeptics who Ed and Lorraine Warren combated over the course of their careers, and while it’s pretty clear what team the film is playing for, it adds a certain level of depth to the story in just having the Warrens actually express doubt about the validity of what’s going on in the Hodgson household.

The script by Carey & Chad Hayes as well as James Wan and David Leslie Johnson deserves a lot of credit for the way in which it advances the story of Ed and Lorraine Warren while also presenting them a new and different case to investigate, but particular choices do result in some issues in both the pacing and structure. Specifically, while The Conjuring had the Warrens checking out the Perron household within the first act of the movie, the duo and the events transpiring at the Hodgson’s council house are kept apart for a surprising fraction of The Conjuring 2 - providing time to catch up with the Warrens while also escalating events in Enfield. While consistent creeps and frights prevent things from ever getting anywhere even near “boring, ” Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are best as the Warrens when they are in the heat of an investigation – exercising their knowledge while providing needed emotional support to each other – and the sequel puts off that portion of the story for a bit too long.

What makes The Conjuring 2 worth seeing is just the work of James Wan, who returns to the horror genre with real passion and effectively reminds us why it’s been his home for so many years. His work with cinematographer Don Burgess is striking and effective, as the camera is rarely kept stagnant, and the movement instills a wonderful paranoia in the atmosphere that makes the audience constantly fear what may be lurking just beyond the range of the lens. Most importantly, there is clear evidence of deep knowledge when and when not to unleash a scare, and Wan orchestrates it so the “when nots” drive you further to the edge of your seat in anticipation of all the “whens.”

Tiding over the logical incongruity of an ageing superstar playing a twenty-something lover boy who matches steps with a vivacious actress half his age might take some doing. But once you manage to get that mental holdup out the way, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Yash Chopra’s last film, is a perfectly fitting finale to an eventful life and career.

The screenplay by Aditya Chopra and Devika Bhagat is by no means flawless but, for the most part, Jab Tak Hai Jaan is watchable, if somewhat emotionally manipulative.

Beautifully shot in easy-on-the-eye parts of London and Ladakh, the film, in the best traditions of a Yash Chopra romance, sees the world primarily through a tried-and-tested “love is life” aperture. The view that it provides is generally likable, if not always completely persuasive.

The mushy moments at the heart of the love story might feel a tad pulpy at times. ButJab Tak Hai Jaan leaves a soothing afterglow. You have seen it all before, notably in Dil To Pagal Hai and Veer-Zaara. Yet, Jab Tak Hai Jaan exudes a surprising degree of freshness. It stems from the quirky new-age twists that the screenplay throws into the mix.

One half of the film is a variation on the legend of Mirabai – the heroine, a prim and propah London girl, is caught between her unshakable faith in Jesus Christ (who she believes will never let her down) and her temporal love for a charming street musician who sweeps her off her feet and tempts her to “cross the line”.

Nice movie with a good story. It is about Samar who loves Meera and Meera too loves him but faith turns him back to his country after an accident he then meets Akira who he likes she calls him London where another accident takes place.

He goes back too his old memory of 2002 before the accident, he thinks he and Meera are married after 2002 but soon remembers everything goes back to India, Meera goes there and marries him.

Such a amazing movie. I’l refer it to anyone who likes to watch romantic movies. Yash raj was on the peak of his career if u have watched DDLJ ( dil wale dulhaniya le jayenge ) then you’ll surely love that movie (SRK as Smar Anand).

He never looked like he is 47 such a strong and mature performance by SRK on the other hand Katrina was really looking beautiful but sometimes her acting was not impressive. I would like to appreciate Anushka’s role. Even though her role was small her performance was awesome. She looked cute in the movie, her role was that of a bubbly girl. She did justice to her role.

Full credit goes to Yash Chopra he used fantastic locations and made a fantabulous movie.

A great combination of SRK and Yash Chopra makes this movie a must watch. The movie is a romantic saga told in a beautiful tale.

The plot is new and all the cast has given their best...specially SRK is too good as usual. His intense performance is commendable. Overall a nice and fresh romantic movie.

Love happens when everyone else looks at you like you are strange but you feel like your heart is tugging at you to run after what it seeks at any cost. That is the angle Yash Chopra has taken for the movie. To start with it is a trademark Yash Raj film, not calling it a stereotype but I love the way they begin a movie. Love is never a well understood emotion specially because for no 2 people it is the same. However it is true that it makes one weak and strong at the same time - it makes us work harder towards attaining it & makes us sacrifice. That’s the basic outline of the movie.

I shall not give out spoilers but I definetly enjoyed the movie and I’m pretty sure most of them will. Made by the very legend who gave us DDLJ & Veer Zaara. Being his final movie I’m sure fans of Yashji will remember him throught Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Shah Rukh Khan’s portrayal of army Major Samar Anand is his finest since Chak De & Rab Ne Banadi Jodi. Anushka Sharma(journalist Akira Rai) definetly did a great job in acting as a bubbly energetic girl but with apparent vulnerabilities, more like the happy face is a mask to cover her true feelings on love. Katrina’s acting though questionable thus far definetly has stepped up and I was surprised at her portrayal of very strong emotions of her character Meera with little effort. The usual scenic locales of Kashmir & London were shot tastefully and will appeal to audiences worldwide and might even put the beauty of Kashmir on the map globally. Aesthetics is top notch as expected and the romance is strong and atleast I found it a welcome movie.

The movie duration is a little longer than a few of those this year but I think that’s hardly a reason to complain as this was Yashji’s last movie and he has the right to make sure he expresses what he felt best and put his all into it which is evident. Like I said its all perspective and I could easily sit for that long as the story held me captive. Certain scenes like the B-Boying scene were long but not unnecessary, as it explains certain things of the main story as well. Coming to the main story by itself its a classic triangle romance with a high level of unpredictability in this one towards the end with layers of curiosity inducing plots comparatively well woven into each other Cliched for some but worth the watch. The melodious soul stirring music is written by Gulzar and composed by Rehman so of course so no complaints there. It was anything but disappointing for me. Adi Chopra did a great job with an original poem. Anushka & Katrina complimented each other well contrary to my belief and it totally surprised me . Katrina’s portayal of an insecure woman seeking balance in her life in her own quirky way that exposes her weaknesses is quite unique. Everyone is the way they are because of what they have experienced before in their life and they pray and grow strong to prevent it from happening to them or others & this is what the movie explores. Anupam Kher, Nitu Singh & Rishi Kapoor added a nice touch to the story. Aur jahan humare Shah Rukh saab ki baat hai - iss Pathan da koi jawab nahi.  Definetly a watch.

This is a romantic drama in which there has been shown the importance of destiny and god . The movie shows that you can not get the things before the time and more than your destiny. It is the love story of two people who belong from entirely different customs and traditions. And also signifies the role of one sided love and how to overcome the pain of one sided love. It also shows that it is not always that you will get the one you love sometimes love is not just being together but it is about praying good for whom you love even if you are not together.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan ( English: As Long as I Live, literally as long, or as far, as there is life) is a 2012 Indian romantic drama film directed by Yash Chopra and written and produced by Aditya Chopra under their production banner, Yash Raj Films. The movie is the first collaboration between Khan and Kaif, and the second between Khan and Sharma ( they previously featured in the 2008 film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi) . Yash Chopra returned to directing eight years after Veer-Zaara. This was to be his final film before his death in October 2012, at age 80.The background score and sound track was composed by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics from Gulzar.
