Murli, Thanks for the interpretation of the raagas and elaborating on the meaning of the lyrics. I haven't got a chance to truly LISTEN to the compositions yet. I hope to find the time to do so, and your notes should come in handy. Thanks. - Jayanth

I noted that Ilayaraja had noted it in almost every occassion in the last few months that it is not correct to refer to the work as a 'symphony' as all he has done is used a symphony orchestra. As a good musician who most certainly knows these things so much better than myself, he has felt the urge read more...
I had organized my response by paragraph in Word. When I cut and paste it, I lost the formatting. Good suggestion, in any case and noted.
