It is murderously overpriced. The Getz failed because of pricing and here again we have another example. The Swift is undoubtedly the king in this segment and has the best looks, the best engine in both the petrol and diesel versions and the best servicing network amongst competitors.

Did you buy the ZXi? If you are getting 15 kmpl now it will evenutally go to around 18 kmpl. The first 5 tanks full of diesel is amazing to watch how the mileage keeps improving. I get 16+ consistently irrespective of how I drive

Nitinbhaskar If you have the cash to plump in for a Laura, it would be my humble advice to you to test drive the Ford Endeavour that comes in at the same price, has a 2.5 liter 143 BHP TDCI engine (Laura makes a measly 87 BHP or so, just check out the exact number). I did ask for a Diesel Swift test drive, but in Bangalore Maruti dealers are in no mood to take bookings, leave alone giving people test drives of the Swift. I agree with Chandrakanth that if one is a speed demon, then the Fiesta is not the one to choose. My usage is 80% going and coming from office in chok a block Bangalore traffic. Hey Alk, I drove the Hyundai Verna as well and eliminated it from my choice of cars much before and finally looked at just the Logan and the Fiesta. The AMP at Ford includes the warranty which on an average is Rs 5000 per year. A company that tells you to buy its AMP at an amplified price definitely does not mean they have less confidence in their product. It simply means they are overpricing the service! To add my pence to this, let me say that comparing the Zen with the Ford Diesel was a wrong comparison. Please compare the Ford Fiesta Petrol 1.4 with the Ford Fiesta Diesel 1.4 since they are similarly powered with the same cubic capacity. The Petrol Zxi is 1 lakh cheaper than the Diesel Zxi. The Ford Fiesta Diesel is the only 3rd generation Commom Rail engine apart from the Mercs. Even the Swift diesel cannot be compared to it as its a generation older and has serious issues with power in the lower bands.
