Don’t Move.feel the moment, understand it, and just walk away.

*An Italian movie, with English subtitles.*

***Starring: ***Penolepe Cruz and Sergio Castellinito

Pretty girls do face a lot of trouble don’t they?Especially when they have more faces watching their every move. Life is a series of circumstances constructed or accidentally formed right in front of our eyes, so that we may combat them and emerge victorious therafter. But one is left with memories, hard, constrained, real. And sometimes it is our defeats that are hard to forget, and they seem to haunt us all our lives.

Don’t move is a story of a passing guilt. It is a drama that someone would want to forget about. It

Has characters whose lives are weary and sad, but it is these characters that tell a story, and most

Grudgingly you fight that will to sit through it, to know what happens in the end.

For you have heard an obscure affair gone wrong, a mistress left alone by a prolific rich sociopath,

And marriages gone sour. This movie, was like listening to a person’s dirty secret. That almost

Made you feel bad. Not compassionate though, but it tends to make you feel bad at the turn of things, events. Almost regretful, but watching this movie doesn’t answer the question, why would someone cheat, but it does give a slight insight to what true love could mean.

**Summary:**

A bike accident makes a doctor’s daughter go in for a brain surgery, as the doctor waits outside the

Operating room, he remembers his affair with a woman he came to love, who incidentally isn’t his wife. We are treated with a series of flashbacks, as his daughter gets operated upon. And a

Finale, that ends on a red high heel shoe.

Timoteo is a surgeon, and dissatisfied with his love life. His wife is a stunning italian beauty. But not

All is going right with their relationship. For instance their communication just doesn’t have a

Spark of romance, and he seems to regrettably give in to the demands of his wife. And one day his

Car breaks down and he finds himself with a bottle of vodka and a woman called Italia, and it is one of the most unusual and tragic circumstances that people all around the world are terror-stricken with.

Rape.

In all this, he finds a way to love Italia. And she, him. The situations seem to weave into themselves

And thought seems to take a backseat for Timoteo(Sergio). His married life deteriorates and

His sleazy affair takes centrestage in his scheme of things. The movie is Sergio’s point of view, the way he looks at life, and we liberally judge him with every decision he makes, every passionate moment he shares with italia, and every ridiculous way he snubs his wife. The women in the movie aren’t the protagonists, it’s about a man fighting for his life. Wanting to live without sacrifices.

**Acting:**

*****

Penolepe Cruz, as Italia, is convincing. She looks unglam and with dishevelled hair, eyes pour out mascara, and wears high heels and closely resembles a pr*stitute, she has managed to look

Completely unlike herself. She fits the character of Italia, perfectly. But do we feel sympathy for such

A character, that is complex and uneven? Maybe a little, at how pathetic a situation it is, and how

Desperately people try to salvage it. But it definitely is one of the better performances of Penolepe, I have seen till now.

Sergio who plays Timoteo is a man dissatisfied with his life, and he is so fed up that he finally finds

Redemption in someone, at least with the idea of love.

**Plot:**

***

A man in his mid-life crisis, desperately seeks to find love, and he does, in the most weirdest

Circumstance, and a woman who desperately wants real love, they meet and kaboom, they don’t really live happily ever after, afterall there’s this man’s wife. Well she isn’t really interfering, but you

See, the train finally gets back on the rail. The plot is run of the mill, but gripping.

The story is based on a book by Sergio’s wife, Margaret Mazzantini. It is simply an italian soap opera, which remarkably tells us about the inescapable, inevitable and rather indestructible issues people have with fate.

The *soundtrack *is **moving** and **enchanting**.

The movie, if I put into one sentence is like *a wine bottle that accidentally slips and falls on the

White tablecloth.and the wine makes its move.it trickles down drop by drop by drop.*
