The perfect all in one budget router.
This the review about the TP LINK-W8968 wireless router.I had brought it from flipkart past 4 months and I have to say that it is my daily network driver.
It has tons and tons of features built into it for this price point around Rs.2k and I have to say that it the best budget router out there in the Indian networking market.
Not only does it look cool with all the holes in the front for ventilation but also it does the job well.
With two antennas I get a very decent ranfe of around 280 m although Tp link claims it to be 300m and the wifi signal is stong enough to be reachable at every corners of my two storyed house.
It has many led light indicators in the front which gives the curret status about the router. The feature of it which I like the most is that it has a usb port built right into it which serves two purposes-to connect your router to your external drive to acess its contents wirelessly and also alternatively I can connect my modem with a sim into the port which gives me internet acess and it supports 4g which is awesome. Moreover I can connect a usb hub into it which is insane.
I also like that it has a wps button, a landline port and 4 rj45 ports to connect it to 4 different computers. It also has a reset button too.
Now to the actual thing. It gives me internet speed of about 3.5 mbps ( 350 mbps on ping) which is just insane. On sending files and recieving files from the external drive I got speeds upto 1.5 mbps and I was slightly disappointed by it.
Nonetheless it is a great wireless router and it is great value for your money.I would certainly recommend everyone to try it out.

Its a nice product, does its job perfectly
I have a long time relationship with tp link. its been 2 years since I bought it home for my bsnl.
its an adsl modem cum WiFi router. does its job perfectly without going down. initially before buying this one I saw and heard many complaints about its performance and connectivity .
but till today I haven’t faced any issues. except some trivial issues couple of times in a year. thats too negligible.
connectivity speed: 9/10
reliability & satisfaction: 8/10
value for money: 8/10

Not good
Looking Looking good is very high looking but there is only show off because this speed written on the box and the modem is 30 MBPS to 300 mbps but it only supports 4 MBPS highly if your cable line is good then else so it will be not good it will not support the highest speed of the cable line on the telephone line because the 2 and 3 Antennas are only just showing of not giving that much range which should be given by them did just giving a small range of 20 mhz so don’t buy this I have experience in it already.

It's an amazing product for the price
I’d say, It’s an amazing product for the price.(I got this for just Rs.1505/-)
Recommended to all the power users.
Pros:
1.Works with Cable Broadband like ACT Fibernet, Hathway, etc
2.Works with ADSL like BSNL, MTNL, AIRTEL, etc
3.Works with USB Modems like Airtel, Idea, D-Link etc
4.as I said It has USB, using which we can connect our pendrives, ext-hdd, datacard and also we can share our printer on the network.
5.It has got IPv6 so it’s future proof.
So finally it’s a 3 in 1 router.
Cons:
1.It use to reboot when it’s connected via dsl line and use to disconnect few times in a day.
2.I’d say Signal strength is okay. I’m getting the signal around 50-100mtrs.
Verdict: Go for it If you’re looking for a modem with all features like usb, dual antennae, multiple modes like ADSL Modem Router Mode, Wireless Router Mode, 3G Router Mode.

Mind-blowing Product from Tier-1 Brand!
A fantastic router for ADSL modem users. I am using since a year without any single fault. Great range of connectivity. Very much useful even for two-storey building like I have. Easy to setup everything. Advantage of this product is it comes with USB connectivity option so all the users in the home universally access same USB pen-drive whenever they want. I recommend you to buy this router. Not to forget we have reliability of brand TP-Link.

Don't get intimidated by two antennas
Yes it gives two antennas at a very competitive price. I’ve heard enough of it but is it even worth it if it doesn’t even work properly?
I’m using this particular modem cum router for past 4 months. Got it from amazon flash sale for just 1449. A chip off price to say but am I happy with this product? No I’m not. Why do you ask, I’ll tell you why.
First of all there are different versions of this particular model. The best version and the most improved and latest version to came out so far is "v4". Rest all have some or other problems. Like in v3, there sure are two antennas, but only one of them is working and the other one is for show so if you even removed the other one, it’ll still give you the same range. So the first thing to keep in mind while purchasing this particular router is to ensure that you are buying v4 from your vendor.
Now the other big problem with this router is the frequent disconnection of the internet connection which will force you to reboot the modem frequently which is very irritating.
The good feature about this modem is that it supports 4 guest network so if you’ve got neighbours who keep on asking you the wifi password, make a guest network, put a speed limit on them and let them enjoy while you controlling how much data speed they consume.
But this particular good feature doesn’t outweigh its serious disconnection problems. I’ve contacted their customer support and all they have done is to guide me to go to modem setting and change the default DNS to Google’s DNS which I had done already. Other than that, they just tell you that it’s the ISP’s problem but in truth this is a modem’s fault because all the ISPs in India won’t give improper connection on this particular modem altogether.
Another big problem in this modem is the data loss or packet loss while transmitting the data on wifi. The average loss remains about 1-3% depending on what service you are using. Because of this the highest and lowest point of your bandwidth has a big difference and this also result in higher ping. In my 4mbps connection, my highs and lows are 394kbps - 567kbps with a ping of around 60ms that too on optical fiber cable connection(obviously the connection is more stable on other modems like d-link).
I bought this modem because of the price I got on amazon otherwise I would have gone for D-link which was 500 bucks more than this product.

Two antennas, just to show off
I have been using this product for over 1 year, it has all the functions working properly but the primary reason I chose this router(range) dosnt seem to live up to the expectations. it has very low range no matter where do I place it in my home as soon as I move to other room the network goes down to one point and moving a bit further makes the network disappear at all. so dont go on look, it is good to use in small area say range of 5 square meter but ahead that u will sure have trouble with the network. other functions seem to work fine but it takes a bit more time to start and restart then normal routers. Conclusion: what is mentioned in the specification is all true except the network range so please dont buy it if u r looking for that feature

Best ADSL 2 Router Under 2000 INR
TP-Link TDW8968 I am using this router for more than 1 year, till now its working fine.I am using this router with BSNL Adsl Broadband its working fine.It has Good user friendly GUI, easy to setup the router.Wifi Range is pretty good, it support multi-SSDI, it has guest Wifi too, it has bandwidth control, MAC address filtering.Unlike older version of routers it distributes bandwidth equally to all connected users.
Coming to 3G support of this router, it can also work with 3G dongles, I have tried using Dlink dongle and MTS Mblaze Ultra, but the router takes too long to detect the dongles and connect to the internet, frequent disconnect. It is not good for 3G Networks.
If 3G is not considered, than it is the best router for ADSL Broadband.

Almost the best
This router has 2 antennas giving good Wi-Fi range. It can simultaneously run 3 different SSIDs.
This is a multi-function product, capable to connections for ADSL, cable broadband and 3G dongle connectivity. Check out supported dongles on the company’s product page. Can connect a 1TB portable HDD to it and can access it on the network. Works with MTNL/BSNL for ADSL and confirmed to work with cable broadband connections too.
The interface is really great and Intuitive and it took barely 5 mins to get my entire set up working on the new Modem(usually taken me nothing less than half hour on the betel 450tc). I would strongly recommend this product for anyone who needs a replacement modem(especially those millions of Airtel IPTV customers with WIFI issues on the Betel 450 TC - google- Beetel 450TC IPTV MGMNT)
The only thing that I might see as an issue is that it runs a bit hot to the touch. Other than that, I have seen a big improvement in WIFI strength and speed compare to my old modem. Works smoothly on Airtel Broadband connection.

Pathetic product bugs!!!!!!
I have purchased the ADSL few weeks ago. I am facing issue of frequent disconnection.
I initially complained my ISP provider(mtnl) regarding the issue. After physical inspection of connection and detailed diagnostic from their end, technicians have told me there is issue with the adsl I bought recently.
I have also checked same connection using my previous modem as well and connection works perfect without any disconnection for hours non stop.
The adsl is a faulty product. I found many posts with same reviews online. Really bad testing by tp link for their products

Excellent product for budget users.
The router is the best for home and SOHO use. Its quite stable and perfect for home based gaming, media share, HD movie streaming etc. The wireless was great and there was no lag. The web based configuration utility is super easy and any confusion can be taken care by very well concepts in the user manual.
The connection on my MTNL was very stable with SNR margin and line attenuation always under the range.
The router can be mounted in wall with antennas in 9 degree for a good doughnut range. Even after FSPL, 150 Mbps was achieved. I was also able to allocate bandwidth with iQos application with ease. Some times when my friend comes, I enable the guest login without disturbing my other SSID credentials.
The LED in the front panel is quite strong to be seen clearly in dark. The modem does not get heated even after 2 hours of continuous usage. The V2 version that I have has a 5dBi 2x2 mimo antenna for healthy link. Printer and media sharing is very easy with USB port at the back.
I could get good transfer speeds of my files though not very excellent.
