WHAT A BOOK TO HAVE MISSED SO FAR

BEWARE! Two desperate and remorseless killers are on the rampage. Truman Capote’s meticulously researched book on the Clutter family killings that took place in a small town in Kansas, USA, in November 1959 gives rise to cold horror on reading.

Man’s inhumanity to man is not only phenomenal but also proverbial. Here we have in vivid details the planning, the uncertainty and the execution of supremely senseless slaying of the members of an innocent family by the master storyteller Capote. The nuances and the sudden twist in the tale that one associates with Capote are missing but what we gain is the perfect insight in the minds of two deranged individuals, the very scum of the society, hell bent on doing a shameful deed. The notes on the forensic and psychiatric evaluation of the suspects are devastating to say the least. A must read book for anyone wishing to see the putrid underbelly of society.
