Review Of Bharat Cafe

Bharat Café

Very Popular and very huge Fast Food Joint situated bang opposite Ghatkopar (West) Railway station. This eatery has been around for as long as I can remember and serves some really tasty food.

Food

They serve everything you can think of in a fast food joint. South Indian Stuff (Idlis, Dosas, Medu Wadas, Upmas), Punjabi and Mughlai Food, Pizzaz, Burgers, Milkshakes, South Indian Thalis, Punjabi Thalis, Rice Items, Ice creams, Fresh Fruit Juices. They must have over 150 items in their menu. Like all typical udipis, they serve Punjabi food and any tandoor made food only till 3 PM and After 7 PM. Everything they serve is tasty. The best bet would be Mysore Masala Dosa, Wada Sambhar, Hot Steam Idli and for Punjabi you can have the Butter nana and paneer kofta or paneer tikka masala. A big mug of milkshake or juice will complete you meal. They even have a softy making machine outside where you can enjoy a soft cone for as less as Rs 5.

Price

The Restaurant has 2 sections. The AC and the Non AC. The Non AC section is, obviously, cheaper and the AC section is slightly expensive. A good meal in the non AC section would cost you anywhere between Rs 50 and Rs 100 depending on what you are ordereing. The Punjabi gravies will be expensive then the south Indian Ones but still reasonably priced as most south Indian Hotels are.

Décor and Ambience

Since the restaurant is located opposite the railway station, it’s a very very busy locality with hordes of people coming in or going out of the restaurant and the streets are crowded throughout the day till about 10 PM in the night. The Non AC section is very very huge which can seat atleast 100 -120 people. The AC section is slightly small which can seat upto 30-40 people. The Ambience is not that great and the décor is simple and neat. Don’t think of getting the car as you will not find parking space. It makes more sense to come here in a Public transport as it is very convenient and fast.

Serve Timing

For south Indian Dishes, anywhere between 2 and 7 minutes, For Punjabi Dishes, anywhere between 10 and 15 minutes. There will be huge rushes on public holidays and Sundays so it makes sense to come early in the evenings during these days.
