I took ABC Broadband 1.5 months back thinking that it was a competitive product but am amazed to know how bad they can be (They are cheating on usage limits and the speed you get is less than 1/20th of what they promised). I use different service providers at diff locations (two offices and home) and realised that ABC Broadband is probably the worst. Talked to a few friends (at two very diff locations in Mumbai) and realised that they also think its extremely bad and so thought will write this review for others to BEWARE
I took this connection in Dec 09 and the issues are faced are as below
Useless sales guy without any tech knowledge. Later I found that they were even cheating - he said that there are no installation charges and made me sign the form and take the connection. Later on installation was charged in my bill and when I checked with their customer care they said that they do not know and it would be charged.
They took more than 8 days to install the connection when it was supposed to be on next day and were then fighting for next 2-3 days to get the connection right since it was not coming
The worst of all when I started getting connection I realised that am getting extrememly slow speed ( 15-22 kbps sic!!!!) as against the promised 2 mbps ( I took the CB299 plan). Despite almost 8-9 reminders they did not send anyone (they claim some ATS guy would come, who never turned up). Finally I got hold of their local office and post a real fight got an engineer at my home. He saw the spped was pathetic (mail.yahoo.com took 2.32 mins to open). Then he tested the speed on some ABC Broadband speedtest site which showed 1.7mbps download speed to which I was aghast - how big is yahoo page? At the same time I retested the speed on independent speedtest site which showed the speed at 22kbps - which clarified that these guys are in big time fraud. So basically ABC Broadband is doing an organised fraud.
Frustrated with all these once I checked my usage and was shocked. The usage in 10 days of normal surfing (no downloads) for 1hr daily led to a 557mbps usage. This was shocking since for my other service providers I use a full month usage doesn’t go beyond 300/400 mbps. So this was a real issue. On repeated calling they say the issue is with your comp and when I told them that the same issue is not their when I use that comp (laptop) with other service then they ok "we will check". they are still checking for last 18 days and do not think they are responding anytime soon. They are clearly trying to make money by giving you a cheap bill plan and then charging you so much that you finally end up paying 3/4 times the base cost.
I am fighting with these guys for the billing amount and hae now resolved that I would not pay the bills and lets see what they do. In case anything legal I have saved/print screen all the proofs on speed and usage (one day it showed me 2MB usage in flat 1.22 secs when speed was 12kbps).
Yet in the end I would never suggest ABC Broadband and would say DO NOT EVER BOTHER TO TAKE ABC Broadband CONNECTION
