I just had the worst experience with the worst possible customer care possible in the broadband scenario in Mumbai.
I used GPRS from Airtel, unlimited, good connectivity, Rs. 100 a month, but slow definitely, so I wanted a BB conn and was searching for a good ISP at a good price, came across ABC Broadband, very compatible prices and supposed good connectivity at Airoli.
So, I applied for a ‘Building Enrollment’ on the website, and I got a call from a sales person who wanted to sell the product. The sales person (Nitesh Rai, Sales Executive ID 500008410, Mobile Number: 9322174201) came to my house in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai to test the signal strength on the indoor router. The signal was “orange”, and he told me that it was a ‘good’ signal, when that is a blatant lie! He convinced me to apply for the connection by giving all the documents and Rs. 500 cheque and told me that the Nano receiver would definitely get very good signal and “the company is a 4G company, which would give signals of excellent strength, and it is a Mukesh Ambani’s company’! LOL!! The website says it is a Prakash Bajpai company, who was the CEO of Anil Ambani led RCOM.
I applied for the connection (Application No. 50000005024804) on 15-07-2010. The installation engineers came on 18-07-2010, reported ‘zero’ signal even on the roof top of the 7 storied building. After a lot of trial of two applicants in our building, the engineers called the customer care and cancelled the application and applied for the refund, saying that I would receive the cheque by post within 7 working days. (Cancellation No. 1-638583374, dated 18-07-2010). Later I also received a call from ABC Broadband that I would receive the cheque in 7 (seven) days. I made a mistake of not cancelling the cheque with the bank.
I happened to check my bank account only to find out that the cheque has been submitted and the amount deducted from my account!!
I sent mails to their customer care, Nodal Officer (Vikas Bhosale) and appelate officer (Nagesh Prasad). Got no replies from appelate officer or cust. care, but one from Nodal officer for each of the two mails I sent and I got two Nodal Officer Escalation Docket Number 1-668139192, 1-671594526, and assuring me that someone would call me!! But, no one did so!!
Only one thing I would like to say, if you want to go for a ABC Broadband Connection, do so with care. The best thing is do not go for it.
Latest Update: I have received a cheque of Rs. 500 with a mistakes name, but it got credited.
