I recently purchased car insurance from Acko Insurance on June 18, 2023, at 4:30 PM, and I must say Im deeply disappointed with the entire experience. The initial transaction appeared to be straightforward, with a quoted price of Rs. 15, 430.97 for a Zero Depreciation insurance policy. The companys representative, Mr. Aniket Patil, assured me that this was the total cost, and no additional charges would apply.
However, my trust in their services was completely shattered when I needed to file a claim for a broken car mirror on November 2, 2023. To my shock, the insurance company insisted on an extra payment of Rs. 6, 000, conveniently labeling it as a "voluntary payment." This hidden fee was never disclosed during the insurance purchase, leaving me feeling deceived and taken advantage of.
Whats even more frustrating is that I could have fixed the car mirror for a mere Rs. 4, 000 if I had chosen to do it myself. Its evident that the additional charge is entirely unjustified and nothing short of a blatant rip-off.
I am sharing this review not just to vent my own frustrations but to alert potential customers about the unethical practices of Acko Insurance. They engage in practices that are unfair, lack transparency, and ultimately harm consumers. This is a matter that needs immediate attention and intervention to safeguard the rights and interests of insurance buyers.
I implore others to be cautious when dealing with this company and urge relevant authorities to investigate and address these deceptive practices in the insurance industry. My experience has been nothing short of a disheartening example of how some businesses prioritize their profits over their customers trust and well-being.
