When u even come across the word Agra, the first thing that comes to mind is the fabulous structure in White marble, the Tajmahal.This structure is truly magnificent. One can be at a loss of words while describing this monument of love.I had the pleasure of being there, last year, when I went for a northern tour. Since we went in the summer season, we had a near rotten time on the steps, since u r not allowed to wear footwear. But once inside, it is very cool. I was also disappointed as the entry to the tombs has been discontinued. I had the pleasure years back. I was told because some miscreants desecrate the walls, it was done so. Alas, it is our loss, that entry is restricted. The two mosques on the side of the monument are also good, but not maintained much. And we have our local artists, who have put their signature on the walls.Scumbags.
Well, that is the Taj for you. The beauty of which can never be had or visualised thro words. It has to be seen.Apart from the Tajmahal, you can also visit the agra fort, built by emperor akbar.There a re lots of things to see here too. The palace of mirrors, Diwani khas etc are to be seen here. This fort played home to three generations of emperors and is a great monument.
