*Dear Viewers,
Air India has given me the **worst experience ever that any flying service provider could give. The story still continues.They have both mentally and monetarily harassed me to the core so eventually I decided to stop other innocent passengers to get cheated and miscommunicated and harassed by them.
I had booked in a ticket on 8th of Nov 2006 for my flight on 20th of Nov 2006, from Mumbai to Delhi.
The ticket was booked through travel agent travelguru. The status was unconfirmed then. On 16th of Nov 2006 I e-mailed them asking them to cancel my ticket.(call.bom@airindia.in this is the address given on their website). To my surprise the response to that email is still awaited! **This is the electronic efficiency of Air India!
As I did not get any response by that evening I called up at their call centre in Mumbai to get the ticket cancelled. I recide in Pune so the nearest and also the logical communication point was and is Mumbai. The ticket got cancelled telephonically.
The process now was that I needed to get a cancellation stamp on my ticket from any of the Air India counters and then send it back to travelguru for my refund. On 19th december the Air India counter at New Delhi Airport was approached regarding the same.
*Now The Story Begins:
They said that I will have to go to the Air India Pune office to collect this cancellation receipt. This was surprising to me! Why should I be going to Pune office when I have nothing to do with them? The sector was Mumbai-Delhi! I had no choice but to come to the Pune office.
Since 8th January 2007 till date the Pune office is fooling me around! It is over 30 kilometres from where I stay and they have made me go to their office like four times and made me give them a photocopy of my ticket like three times! Everytime they have just one explaination that we are trying to get it back from History! They NEVER pick phones! You call like 100 times and may be then one time youll have your call answered! this is very much like never. It took them a month to tell me that the PNR of my ticket is in some Mr. Naushads name! The sector is Kuwait-Cochin! **What an Efficiency! Excuse Me but It Sucks!
Meanwhile I approached my travel agent and asked them to start a parallel follow up. They came up with something absolutely new. Now Air India tells them that they do not operate in this sector! If that is so then am I a moron to have their physical ticket dispalying all those details?! Then they say that history cannot be retrieved beyond 30 days! Another crap! If that is so then why did not the New Delhi counter help me in this? What an Excellent System in Place?! They have One of the Worst Customer Care Department and also the Front End Staff.
Meanwhile I also registered a complaint regarding the same on Air India website. This was done by me in the first week of february and I am not at all surprised by their HOPELESS techincal and all other teams who have yet again not even bothered to respond to that! God only knows how is this airline working and with this attitude Id really be intrested in knowing the life of this airline.
*Pune office asks me to get back to my travel agent because they are failing to retrieve information about my ticket from their history! HOPELESS BUNCH.
They say that they cannot retrieve my history! They say My ticket is not cancelled! They also say that they do not operate in that sector? **(This is what is happening from all three ends: Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore(as my travel agenttravelguru have their HO in Bangalore from where the ticket was issued to me)
The FACT is that I hold that physical ticket thorugh which I can prove them wrong and liars and deceivers on all counts.
*I hope they should at least get their facts and product and service knowledge correct before everytime they open their BIG MOUTHS!
This is just the beginning form my end. I shall continue with quoting names in my further reviews. I hope the Air India rises to have substance in defence.

Guyz, you have got it wrong here.This is with reference to the responses that I have received till now.The problem is NOT as to who would refund the money. It is very clear that the money shall be refunded by travelguru only. The Question is that they would refund the money depending upon the status of my ticket which has to be given by the Air India. **Air India has been making a fool of me by having a different explaination regarding my cancellation every time and harassing me to the core! Once Air India gives me the cancellation receipt only then Id be elligible for refund. This is the Air India process.
