I was forced to try Airtel 4G Broadband service as there is no other wireline Broadband operator in my area in Rajarhat , Kolkata - so much know as Kolkata’s own silicon valley. Airtel sales agent appeared at my house and tried every trick in the book to get me to buy the product - a 4G broadband wifi router worth Rs 5000/-.
On my enquiry about the nearest Airtel 4G Tower , he falsely informed me that it was installed in the adjoining building , which I verified and found to be false. Inspite of that I decided to try the service and bought the connection. The speed was working at 9 MBPS during the demonstration, but as soon as the agent left , the network disappeared and not even a website could be opened...so much for a 4G, its not even worth a 1G connection tag.
The sales agent told me that the service keeps fluctuating from time to time...I found that it is pretty consistently down..India is a country where even the 3G services are still not stable, Airtel is experimenting with 4G treating the unsuspecting customers as guinea pigs with the complacence of the unscrupulous deceiving, lying Sales agents.
BEWARE .....Airtel 4G is a FRAUD to dupe unsuspecting customers.
