Update - Problem resolved.

Update to my earlier post:


Well, I finally did get my airtel 4g sim activated after the outlet guy said he will replace it with a new sim because of some complications. After I brought the dongle home, I was surprised to see that there was no signal here. On complaining to Airtel( Complaint No. 529* 90), two technicians( first one was from Wipro and the second one was from Huawei, both sub-contractors) promptly visited within the next 2-3 days and I was finally told there is no tower nearby( even though I stay close to many software companies) and would take at least 90 or more days if at all this problem is resolved.


The technicians also kind of blamed me saying I should have taken a demo at the house and tested the signal before purchasing. But, since I had already purchased and did not have an option, I started hunting for some signal at every inch of the house. Finally, I could find some signal in one corner of the house near bathroom( just one line in the signal bar within a land area of 4 sq ft) and luckily it does not disconnect at this place. For connecting to internet, I always to need to sit at this location.


Regarding the connectivity, even though the speeds are not as good as they promise, the connection does not disconnect and have hardly faced disconnections once or twice in the past 2 months. I connect to my office VPN and have never faced issues.I really hope they improve in the coming days.

I bought an Airtel 4G connection from Airtel outlet, J.P. Nagar 1st phase, Bangalore. Even though the address verification happened within 2 days, my dongle no. 72596XXX04 has not been activated even after a week I bought this connection.


Every-time I call the customer care, they say my dongle number is not registered and if I go to the outlet, they enact speaking to the customer cell and say my dongle will be active in 24 hrs and the delay was because of some technical issue. When I ask what the technical issue is, they don’t have an answer. Seeing so many similar complaints about 4G here, I don’t have any hopes that I can really enjoy my connection even in future.


Building relationship with Airtel has resulted in unnecessary tension, frustration and loss of peace. I would really suggest everyone to stay away from this money eating parasite.
