I am writing my first review and that for Airtel 4G. I am regular user for almost a year now and had plan of 3GB - 4G Speed and then free with 128KBPS and got monthly bill of 730 apprx.
To my surprise in month of Feb 2015, suddenly I got bill amount of Rs 1700 aprx, when I called customer care they said due to increasing costs n bla bal. they have changed my plan and the new bill amount is as per that plan which give me only 3GB free data and after that all data upto 7GB is chargeable. This was done without my consent, so I contacted Airtel customer care which first was of no help. They were just repeating same lines that plan is changed to accomodate increased costs. Then I escalated matter to Nodal officer and there also no answer. After that I copied Appellate authority as final step stating that if matter not resolved I will go to consumer court.
My point was plan was changed without taking any consent. Then someone from Nodal/Appellate authority called and toll that they will waive off some amount, to which I resisted demanding complete reversal of extra changes. Finally they agreed to reverse complete amount, but kept the new plan same. I am sharing this, so that u can also follow the steps if u r cheated.
Make a point that while getting connection u select particular plan to match ur budget, but the new plan change which is done without consent doesn’t match you budget. Airtel never send any forma communcation on plan change and never gave any opportunity to opt out of service due to higher tariff resulting out of plan change. To me customer care told that they had sent some msg of plan change, but I told that it can not be consider legal.
Guys if this plan change affects your pocket, better get out of it sooner.
Service wise I never faced issue, but yes when they changed my plan without taking my consent, I felt cheated.
