Received threats over telephone bill dispute

The facts are as follows:

I had placed the request for cancellation of the connection on the 23rd of January 2013, since I was relocating to Mumbai. This was before the end of the billing cycle, which is the 26th of every month. The request was accepted, but I received a callback from the Retention team saying they could migrate the connection to my new location in Mumbai. In spite of my reluctance to do so, the executive in question insisted I try the option, and was told the Mumbai team would revert within 3 days.

The revert did not come within the promised SLA(I have the call records necessary to prove this), instead it took 10 days for them to revert back that the connection was not possible in the area where I was residing, a fact that I had already told them, since there are no Airtel landline DPs or pillars in the area(I know what they look like, having worked for the company in Tamil Nadu circle). All this time, the connection cancellation request was put on hold. A fresh request to cancel was raised by the executive calling me back to confirm that migration was not possible in mid-February, and this was acted upon and the connection subsequently cancelled by the end of February.

The additional charges for the month of February are being claimed by Airtel, which I am not liable for, since the cancellation request was placed much earlier and was not acted upon by the company and are therefore illegal. Please check the connection data usage records from your own billing and usage servers for this - from the end of January.

All of this has been explained umpteen times to the third-party collection executives who periodically keep calling up with blatant threats of being jailed and dragged to court for recovery of these charges. They are not even able to understand the fact that I have not been in Bangalore since the end of January and therefore the charges are not applicable.

I have always paid my bills on time and in full, and this demand amounts to an attempt to exploit faults in your own service process for pecuniary gain of the company. As an ex-employee, I have great respect for the company, but I will not bow down to your strong-arm tactics arising out of faults in your own process.
