Again poor service and false committment

I was never into Post Paid connection because of their billing pattern, however I moved to Mysore and I had to make regular STD calls. Got 299 plan and everything seems ok. We had one issue with Airtel people in the beginning, I called up,  no one came, I didnt pay the bill, then executives came running, apologized and ultimately I restarted the service. Thats history, now to some good ones.


I had to go out of India so activated my international roaming. Again the executives werent informed of the charges, they told me all wrong charges. But thats not an issue, I knew charges will be high if I use outside india. No complains. When I came back and I called Customer Care and wanted to get both Mobile Office and International cancelled. It was confirmed. I further received SMS to activate GPRS @ 99/month. I did, but it didnt work on my O2 Phone, so cancelled it.


Now the drama: I was charged for 3 months for international roaming, even though I was in India. I was charged for 3 months for GPRS, which I didnt use and cancelled. Rs. 248 for 3 months. I just happened to check the billing and found that. I asked the executive and she said I have to give letter to cancel international roaming. I said no one told me that. And we verbally asked to cancel as soon as I came back. And what abt GPRS. I stopped the payment and I use to keep getting calls for payment. I kindly said please send executive so that I can clarify. It happened around 20 or more calls and my outgoing was barred. I took another Huitch connection and then one fine day one executive came, approx 1 month after this drama.


I said, why shud I continue using it? He called some retention depatment and got all adjusted. My outgoing was restored and all fine. But Again, 30+ calls everyday, every evening, sunday, satutday, please pay balance(adjusted amount).  I said what the hell? They said we dun have info of adjusted amount so they are calling me. Clearly complete lack of co-ordination and communication. I even got the lady who was calling me everyday to talk to the person who got this amount adjusted, but alas this didnt stop. The person who adjusted said Server was down so he couldnt adjust. Well, 7 days server was down? Ultimately my outgoing was barred again?


After few days I received call saying your outgoing is restored, I said why should I again use it. Please ask your manager to call or I will cancel the account. And look what she did, She CANCELLED the account? I remember in Delhi, I had to give written application to cancel the connection. On top of that, she just cancelled, no warning, no calls.


I have INR 5000 as deposit and she said, she will get that adjusted with my balance amount. Now what should I do? Enjoy looking at more of new AIRTEL Ads! Or feel cheated by sales representatives who gives false promises and no service?


This is my third bad experience with Airtel. I use around 6 Airtel Products including 4 broadband services and 2 Cellular Service. I have already started looking into other option because I do not want to land up in such situation again. This clearly reflects lack of customer service, co-oridnation between your agents/departments/collection centers and you need to seriously look into this.


Has any AIRTEL PEOPLE to explain anything here?
